I played this game on console a while ago and mainly played around the introduction of the first season of the game's DLC. I have only really dived into the main story outside of that. Overall, I have somewhere from +100HR in the game in total.

I wouldn't suggest buying the plethora of editions for the game when they are not on sale. But, if they are, then it would be an easy purchase. The base game is fun by itself, so the different editions are not needed, but to add some more options when playing (cosmetic/blueprint stuff felt a bit scummy but its there if you like them).

The story isn't a highlight, but it hasn't been for any of ubisoft's other games since 2013. Although, the gameplay is nice. It has a wide variety of different options on what type of experience you would like have. A mix of semi-immersive and/or looter shooter is what is offered along side a good progression system that accompanies many different playstyles. And for cosmetics, unlike other games, you can grind for a lot of them for a reasonable amount of time. (With the late game stuff being harder to achieve later on, but that's what the gamer grindset is for.)

Basically, watch some gameplay videos on youtube, check with your friends, or just read the game's about section to see if you think it is worth your money. Which I'll assume you already knew to do that :).

The game is old, but good. Its even better with mods. Skyrim is a nice rpg for those who are veterans, or new to the genre.
