The Campaign is a true testament to the first game in the series but operations leave such a bad tast in the mouth that it has ruined the rest of the experience. The enemies are balance completely differently and way overtuned or your weapons are nerfed to crap. Either way, unless you want to only play the campaign it isn't worth the purchase.

Just play the first game again and enjoy your time.

I love this game, I did as a kid and do now, but especially in the second game (particularly the player packs) with the introduction of indestructable stone the amount of wait time upon doing the obvious solution is insane. I will specify Achilles as it was the most recent map I've taken issue with especially as it has literally one solution, cause the domino fall using a parachute bomb. Here's the thing, if you hit ONLY the red barrels/crates the domino doesn't fall, NBD, hit closer and use the bomb to knock over the girders yourself. EXCEPT the domino doesn't out and out kill the character like it used to. I had to wait for the 5 min tilt kill timer. it's SUPER annoying.

That's also not getting into the jank that is CtCA because ho boy is it a downgrade in quality.

We Dive Together or NOT AT ALL!

The game is fun but has it's issues. My buddy and I want to play together but the peer to peer is highly unstable and lags FAR MORE than any other game we play. Ping is only 150 on average but either I or him are completely kneecapped by atrocious lag.

The unit AI is also very dumb, but can be mitigated by conscientious use of shift movement, and ensuring clear sight lines on approaches. Infantry react to enemies far too slowly and end up dying when enemy infantry run around corners you have them ACTIVELY watching. The vehicles regularly use the wrong ammo and crewmen keep filling exposed sponson weapons until your vehicle is empty. ATGMs do no damage but tanks and other AFVs default to them when fighting tanks which is dumb.

Despite my critique I genuinely enjoy this game immensely hence why I'm so harsh with it, the game modes are fun, the factions and equipment are extremely diverse. Conquest feels rewarding as you push and defend and the planning of your waves is excellent. If you like men of war assault squad you'll love this game, and if you like really strategic RTS this is for you. genuinely having a blast and will continue to play.
