For me who has grown up on these games and started playing via iOS what feels like a decade ago, this game very much has the potential to become my favorite Kingdom Rush game hands down. I love how much micro you have to do with your heroes and can even micro your reinforcements (and units from hero abilities) which to me makes for a more engaging tower defense.

Origins is my favorite Kingdom Rush game due to the atmosphere and setting, despite having a different setting Alliance oddly satisfies me a lot here despite it not being in a more medieval fantasy setting. I really like the design of the Unblinded Cult, from the design of the enemies and the design of the Overseer. However, it's not just the artistic design here that I am referring to but also their designs as an enemy.

The whole Unblinded roster of enemies has an "ascension" mechanic of sorts, from Acolytes turning into tentacles if they died during melee, Glarelings (the fast tiny swarm things) becoming Golems, to Priests becoming Abominations. Alongside this mechanic, there are also the eyes of the Overseer which further buff them (or in the case of several enemies it's required for their ascension or ability).

The flying enemies in the Third Area somewhat (though not entirely) invalidate barracks, I completed the last three levels using only normal towers after deciding barracks were not going to work out. I also am somewhat disappointed in the Overseer fight, as it can be the best boss fight in the entire series however it is ridiculously easy.

For an event pack, it does its job. The new events while traveling are a breath of fresh air for vanilla players while adding more to the traveler trait with its own lifestyle tree. I don't think it should've been in Roads to Powers since that DLC was focused on Adventurers which are landless characters alongside the Byzantine Empire/Administrative Governments, not landed characters like this event pack is. It's certainly better than Wards and Wardens for an event pack content-wise.

The extra roleplay this adds for all characters will make this worth $5 to me personally.

I do not understand why this has such negative reviews, Victoria 3 is by far the most beautiful and alive game Paradox has given us yet. It is an art DLC that makes it even more beautiful and alive. I really like the day/night cycle and UI color personally. Do not get it if you are uninterested in it, it's that simple. It isn't required by any means and certainly doesn't change or add anything to the gameplay.

This DLC is a bit similar to Green Cities in my opinion, you buy it because you know exactly what you want. It includes a new Financial Office Specialization(they actually upgrade/get taller with levels instead of changing the asset entirely), Banks which are basically just Post Offices from Industries DLC which reduce commercial crime rates (Skyscraper Bank is one of the nicest looking assets in vanilla to me), and of course- the Stock Exchange.

Investments aren't that big of a game changer considering by the time you start investing much you will already be in a comfortable position economically and really is just there to add spice in the mid-late game. I will add that if you have Plazas & Promenades where it feels as every inch of a pedestrian zone costs $1,000,000 it could be more worth it.

Very optional DLC that you get when you know you want... well Financial District(s)/Offices and Buildings. However if it's truly worth $8 is for you to decide, that's the thing of these types of DLCs. If you want my opinion, it is.... ish. Getting on sale is always recommended.

Some criticisms I have is how goofy the Stock Exchange looks when you upgrade it, I absolutely love the first 2 levels of the building. Banks are sort of useless besides being a nice to have and looking nice, as we never really had crime problems in the past. The Financial Offices are nice... when they are level 1 or 3, but to me their level 2s look pretty bland.

Also, you just can't deny a chirper with a monacle.

EDIT: I have just been reminded this DLC also includes five new maps, and they are by far the best non-Content Creator maps in the vanilla game. I especially adore Narrow Passage and Windblown Coast, certainly my new favorite maps in the game, even over the Content Creator maps. Honorable mention to Wyvern Pass, very unique map.
