The game released with extremely strong foundations but was plagued by problems like missing content and bad progression to name a few. But Fat Shark never abandoned this game! They pushed through the rough start and released many excellent FREE updates after the game launched.

These days Darktide is in an awsome place and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes horde shooters (the likes of Helldivers or Left 4 Dead).

When this is on sale (60%) you can consider this a discount for aquillas.

I don't like RTS games. They generally stress me out and the gameplay is a mess (for me at least). But CoH2 is different. It is the only RTS I have ever played that I genuinely enjoy. It also strikes great balance between authenticity and gameplay so the history buff inside me is very happy.

Overall the only negative is that many things are hidden behind additional microtransactions - like ToW, Commanders, US campaign and worst of all: The whole of USF, UKF and OKW factions need to be purchased separately.

I really enjoyed it.
Also it has a good use as an achievement farmer. You can easily 100% this game in 30 minutes.
ALSO! The achievements are in form of letters so you can make words via achievement showcase on your profile.
Also... of course it runs great on older hardware. But that is kinda given.

Overall great simple game :)

Do not get put away by mixed reviews!

As many people pointed out before me: this DLC is completely FREE! So even if you don't like this PvP mode you can just ignore it and play the main game which is not affected at all by this DLC.

About the main thing: I think all of us DD players were once thinking that it would be cool if there was a PvP mode to this game. We didn't think about the details or what would have to be changed. We just liked the idea.
And Red Hook delivered! And I have to tell you: It is very well done!
The balancing is pretty good. There are multiple strategies and team comps that could be considered "meta" so that's good.
The turns are time limited so you can't calculate the best approach to exact situations and sometimes you have to make hasty decisions which makes for some great moments.
And what is also great: The queue times are rather short! I usually get a match in between 15 - 25 seconds.

So overall this is extremely underrated DLC (or game mode) and if you like the idea of PvP DD then you should at least give it a try. It's free after all...

So go out there and make your Occultist crit heal for 0 with bleed!

After your first 8 hour session in game you WILL experience a state in which you will not be able to think about anything else than conveyor belts. That includes even your dreams. Just belts everywhere.
