I usually never post comments or recommendations for games, but this is from an emotional perspective after 2450+ hours playing HLL and now I believe is the right time for me to do so.

Every individual who plays FPS Shooters online has their own idea's, goals and desires on why the keep playing a certain game and become part of a gaming community for that particular game.

HLL has one of the best communities you shall ever come across, the people who play this game come from many different countries and backgrounds who each share one of the most valuable values you can have for a game...passion, wherever it be a keen interest in WW2, ancestral reasons, friendship, social reasons or because HLL gives you one of the most entertaining and exhilarating experiences you have ever come across, HLL shall go down as one of the best WW2 Fps shooters which was ever created.

A little backstory...
HLL was started as a kickstarter project initially back in 2017/18 as a group of friends who had a keen/passionate interest for WW2 wanted to recreate the authenticity and originality of certain stages of WW2 which would eventually become Black Matter Studios, but to do so, they researched, consulted, strategised and thought through on the best practice on how to design and create a game which would resemble the original battles/geographical layout in the 1940's and demonstrate a sign of sombreness to the men/women who wore military uniforms and who served in certain units on those very battlefields.

Black Matter grew and built a solid foundational community with HLL by meticulously keeping the player base engaged and sharing idea's whilst also asking the community what they desired from the game, mistakes where made, yes, but the mistakes which where made was met with reassurance, conviction and deliverables. Near to the end of the Black Matter era of HLL, the HLL community became skeptical as everyone knew something behind the scenes had come to fruition and either 1. A few team members had fallen out. 2.Black Matter was on the verge of selling out and buy out proceedings had begun - Unfortunately we as a close knitted and active community knew Black Matters time had come and they outgrew the game in some sense, especially as the new gaming developer studio Team 17 had materialised an offer of £46m for the IP of HLL. As an outsider and avid player of the game, one of the only games I actually play, in some aspect, I wouldn't blame Black Matter for selling out, but if I from a Black Matter employee perspective could now see how HLL is materialising, I would be feeling disappointed, let down and unjust, especially after all the years of articulate historical research, input and development which made this game one of the best WW2 shooters.

Upon leading to posting my review today, the current state and recent developments/announcements from Team 17 not only have me concerned but the incredible HLL Community as a whole.

The past month since the launch of U15 has been very difficult for HLL, which I believe has been one of the worst times for the community since the beginning of the HLL Journey back in June 2019 when it first give us a truly immersive and unique experience on historical accuracy, warfare, tactics, strategy and gameplay.

Before I actually get started on the recent developments, I would like to address this directly to the developers/artists/designers/marketing.

First of all, I appreciate each and every one of you who spend your time, effort and input into the growth of HLL and as I am aware (coming from a commercial background). you did not have any input on the initial acquisition of HLL, however needless to say, I really do hope due diligence was done on behalf of your senior leadership AT Team 17 before purchasing HLL, essentials such as the following, ensuring the correct resources and assets where in place for the growth of HLL and resolving any underlying in game issues from the previous owners (in this case Black Matter), budgeting (game development, designing), keeping the player base on a high retention rate, community base management, coinciding with historical accuracy using historians and experts in specified chosen fields, factual fact checking, player experience management and ensuring you have the correct tools at your disposal.

Needless to say, since the acquisition of HLL, I have only seen fragments of the aforementioned and this internally for you must becoming a nightmare, especially as of this moment right now you are slowly but surely losing one of the best gaming communities/playerbases for a game such as HLL and ultimately for you your investment.

Recent Developments...
I really don't know how to express myself with this part...but it is a disaster, especially after the great job you did with community engagement upon the build up to the release of the most recent update of HLL U14 (The first major update of T17'S tenure) which had some great additions, let's start with the good before the bad...

Good -
Driel, the layout orientation, terrain and map control is competitive for both sides.

El Alamein, has it's inefficiencies but overall a great tanking/mg gunner map and one of the best looking maps currently in the game - certainly facilitates a combination of AT gun firing and using your initiative to flank.

Bad -
- Weapon loadouts for the Brits needs to have an overhaul, bren should have a bipod, the sights on the Lee Enfield, Lanchester needs to be compensated, especially when you are aiming against an STG44 or MP40.

- Should have Valentine/Matilda/M4 tanks for the brits in El Alamein, a sherman firefly never served in El Alamein.

- Few latency issues when driving on El Alamein.

- Brits or Germans don't have north african campaign orientated uniforms.

- Sherman Firefly is not a heavy but more like a medium, especially as the tank hit box system is incorrect.

The latest trailer for U15 as I am assure the majority of you you are already aware now from the other recommendations/reviews is a detriment to the people who served, thought and gave their lives fighting against tyranny, a game of HLL's magnitude which has been built on the values of historical accuracy has to showcase the historically correct uniforms, equipment and map layout- Not a third party videography studio or brief which you have just correlated off the top of your head without any real thought.

So yes, you have finally come to the conclusion of my somewhat rather emotional recommendation, before u14 I would have hugely recommended the game but things change, people make decisions, actions are delivered and sometimes in life it doesn't always work out, but as an optimistic person I am really hoping the next stages of this game are very different to the ones which I have just been implemented.

See you on the battlefield hopefully, over and out....

One of the best multiplayer games I've played if not the best, there are still alot of people actively playing this game even after 10 years old, i don't blame them. The maps in the game are just what a call of duty game should include unlike the others in the franchise, the best aspect about it is you can drive jeeps and tanks. If you haven't played this game, you are missing out, i recommend watching a few multiplayer videos on youtube to see what you are missing out on. Only if they could bring this game too ps4 or xbox one would people realise what a epic game this is
