There's probably a good reason that so little of the game was shown to us before it released, likely Wilcard betting on the idea that the showcased improved graphics would encourage people to buy before reviews got out.

Overall... very underwhelming. Ark Survival Ascended is on release un-optimized and underdeveloped. Since Ark Survival Evolved released, one of the biggest issues was built in spaghetti code and poor optimization at the core of the game, Ark ascended was a perfect opportunity to build things from the ground up and finally harness the amazing core design of the game. Unfortunately, most of ark ascended is lazily ported from ark evolved, with more jank, bugs and poorer optimization than the original Ark itself.

Unless you have a high end PC, your basically paying money for an fps downgrade, since you need to really crank down visual settings for a comfortable experience.

Ark Survival Ascended is not objectively a bad game by any means, it just falls so far short of what it could be, and nowhere near justifies its release as it stands today.

Enjoyed total war Rome 2, tried getting into Warhammer III. Didn't even enjoy the gameplay but the predatory pricing is insane.
