Genuinely one of the greatest political simulators I've played. I think that, considering it being a game and a fictional novel, it paints a very believable and engaging picture of a complex political landscape where tradeoffs have to made to reach your goals. It is very well written and the plot makes sense.

A masterpiece of an indie game, beautiful artstyle, engaging story that is followed up in the sequel and solid, fun detective and management gameplay, including some moral dilemmas!

My description doesn't do it justice, just buy it, it's great.

Oh and the music is honestly the best part, you get to buy records with ingame money and listen to them, and they are really, really nice and fit the aesthetic and story well.

Please play this game if you like RTS games. This is the gold standard as far as RTS games go, it's realistic without compromising playability, has a lot of active players and just a really good game. It allows for a great many playstyles, especially if you play it casually. Want to blitzkrieg all stuka und panzer like? Go for it. Naval invasion? Sure. Heliborne infantry? yep. Special forces behind enemy lines? yes. Somewhat steep learning curve, but if you avoid pub stomps and make sure to play with other new players at the beginning, you'll have a great time even while learning.

The best and most realistic space warfare simulation Ive seen or heard of. YOU get to build everything from nuclear reactor to coilgun, drone to mothership.

As total war games go, this one is great. Any Issues that may have existed at launch aren't noticeable by me, the amount of women is not unrealistic and I have yet to see a woman general in my 88+ hours of play time. I've played many other TW games, and this one combines the combat we all know and love with a solid tech tree, very varied politics and engaging diplomacy. One of the most compelling things to do is making a neighbouring state a puppet without war!

Combat is really nothing new, very solid and reminiscent of Rome I, but the units are unique and the generals actually have different abilities to one another. The variety of units is also refreshing, and there are many things you can do with them. As carthage, you can take the `Hannibal` route and use your infantry to completely encircle the enemy, or you can rely on a very strong cavalry arm to wreak havoc and dominate with manouvre warfare.
Also something relating to carthage, you are actually strongly disadvanteged if you don't use mercenaries early game, just like carthage in real life (!). The historical authenticity outside of scripted events and the like is staggeringly great.

You have two campaigns in the base game, which is better than most TW games, and over 30 factions to play.

I love the game.
Check the other positive reviews for why, but what bugs me is that I CAN'T PLAY ONLINE. I always try to sign up but a message appears that tells me I am apparently not connected to the internet, even though I am.
NVM found a way to play online

I would recommend this, alot, but now i can't start the game becasuse of Error:
Failed to start BattlEye Service (1058)
I obviously want it fixed so yeah, this is all it's about.
