Very based, the best in its genre.

Steam makes updates automatic so i don't have to update manually anymore, plus non steam OpenTTD files get carried over and that's swag.
(Of course the game itself is quite enjoyable especially with friends, and it's FREE!)

Honestly i can't really recommend, simply because the game isn't getting updates and isn't in a state when that would excusable.
The performance isn't terrible but isn't amazing either.
Most problems are with AI and general balancing, It is very easy to slip into a positive feedback loop of many problems such as
Tools (you need them to work efficiently) - to make steel ones you need coal, to mine coal effectively you need tools, BUT your villagers will use coal for heating houses often even if you have wood,
And iron tools are barely worth it since they get consumed during the gathering of wood, iron and then the smithing itself, meaning you cannot grow your tools supply fast enough

Then there is food. You need roughly half of your population to work as farmers, fishermen or other food related jobs, but as soon as your tool supply drops the food yield decreases significantly, leading to death, leading to less food and less iron and you know another feedback loop.
It is very hard to estimate how much you can expand before you run into problems and adding just a few too many houses can lead to collective downfall.

But thera are mods and it's no surprise most players play with them, however they disable achievements, so if you care about them as i do you have to suffer through the base game.
All this is also ingoring that sometimes villagers just don't feel like grabbing the food they need, so you can really mess up without getting involved at all.
Overall would be a better game if it was either still updated or at least didn't disable achievements with mods,

Top notch Christmas gift

When i first started playing, the game was fun, but after a while you just start running into bugs, glitches and other problems. But hey at least we get frequent udates that fix some of them right ?. Not really for the past couple months the game has been in beta 0.3.5 and we have been getting only devblogs which are amazing, who wouldn't want to see all the cool upcoming stuff for survival mode. Except by the time that comes out none of us will be here anymore. But let's focus on some other thing like graphics, the game isn't really bad at this but it also isn't a hyper realistic raytracing and extreme resolution type of game. so you would expect it to run decently. But even if you have a couple small creations near eachother the game starts to lose FPS, fast. Considering this is a creativity based solo/multiplayer sandbox you would i had hoped for it to handle creation-creation or just creation-world interactions well. but it really can't do that. So what about the bugs? They can't be that bad. well if going at a high speed you can be warped out of the world where you can't do anything. This isn't just your regular fall through ground get teleported back, no you can't do anything without a save editor. Another unpleseant thing is the game crashes a lot which kinda sucks but it gets worse when you factor in a performance issue that can freeze your computer for half a minute to a minute, I am not sure if i am the only person to have this happen to them often but i dn't like it either way. also after zou computer comes back to life after being frozen in a non responding state you try to turn the game on again so you can join your buddy's world. At this point you will just look at the steam window tht says something like preparing to launch Scrap Mechanic for a really long time. so that is all i want to say for now buy it only if you either have a NASA level PC or can handle some pretty big problems.

A really nice game, but only if you like micromanagment. many complaints are about that but in my opinion it is a good part of the game. Many of the missions are interesting and i would reccomend.

Well this adds quite a bit of interesting things but i believe there are also a lot of things that should be tweaked such as:
-the electricity consumption of rotors (electric planes are almost impossible)
-the ability to add the new things like the volcano to already existing saves (currently you have to start a new save or lose out on the interesting discoveries)
-maybe a better proppeler option for the rotors since that is mainly the reson i wanted this DLC
All and all i think this is a good DLC since i enjoy the ground scince and new spacesuits but it would really be better if some of the things listed above would be tweaked.
