When i first heard of this game, many of my friends were saying negative things about it, so despite being a massive fan of LotR, i ended up downloading an illigal version to try.
To my suprise, I ran 10 hours straight as soon as it finished the install.

I then came back and bought the game on steam. Happy Days.

Anyway, the game itself plays like a fantasy assasins creed with bosses. Don't hate me for inacuracies in this desciption, but thats the vibe I get whenever I play the game. With a solid campaign involving one certain ranger with some rather abnormal abilities going off to get revenge for #spoilers up until #spoilers marks the games end :P.

The bosses are fun, especially having a persistant world where you can beat up the orc that killed your friend. (always funny when the orcs only lvl 3 or so) Theres plently of time to kill, and the dlc's (just get the Goty edition, like seriously) provide quite a bit of extra content. Especially if you like Calebribor.

So yeah, its fun. Not something i would sink 1000 hours into, but a solid brawler that I just chill in when orc decapitations are required for stress relief.

1, found squad of friedly players who welcomed me to the game
2, ♥♥♥♥ myself after being one hit by sniper
3, repeated step 2, substututing in varius other weapons
4, went to defensive, got to do that to the other team
5, whacked guy in face with shovel
6, got triple kill with rifle
7, died to barbed wire
8, died by gas
11/10 for dying simulator with optional killing

The total war games are one of my all time favourites, and this one is no exception.
Extensive campaigns and mods provide this game with many, many hours of play time, especially if you have the dlc's (more on those later) with a possible total of 5 campaigns to play, there are many options.
The game is quite balanced, among the primary factions, and any can be played without feeling impossible. Mods can also be used to tailor the game to fit your style.
The game does have downsides however, with only a small community of multiplayer players, don't get this game for its mp unless you have lots of friends who play it.
Also the DLC's are numerous and pricy, coming to around $90 U.S. In total not on sale. The one good thing is that you can play with people with different sets to you, you don't need the same dlc's as someone else for the game to be compatible.
A good game, but try to get some friends to play it with for mp.

I would also have to add, that i a recent battle mo battle vs ai the ai managed to drive a seige tower THROUGH the gate and into the city, where it remained, confused. Like seriously.

If you are in urgent need of an overdose of rat killing, then this is the game for you.
Very similar to left for dead, but fantasy with mutant rats, the game provides a dynamic and engaging, if somewhat limited, series of missions with unlimited replay ability.
New content is coming out all the time, with the developers actively listening to the community feedback.
Still prone to having some bugs, espiecialy with some of a the animations, but still satisfying.
With a new and vibrant community, I would give this game a solid 9/10

This is a game that i bought bacause 'the friend recommended it'
not bug free by any account, but very smooth to run, as long as the computer you use has any sort of grunt (4gig ram is heaps)
