I don't need to talk about graphics, This is the best product on the market for that

I'm not gonna talk about gameplay because this game follows Deus Ex's mold and provides options and loadouts for everyone.

What I will tell you is that this isn't just a game, it's a living city waiting for you to exploit it how you see fit. The only thing this game lacks is minigames and stability. As an early title, it's gonna crash...a lot. I, myself, probably have sent hundreds of crash reports. I can stick that out because I know that cyberpunk is the skyrim of the new generation.

The question isn't if you should get it, but when. When more activities get added? when you can actually go in EVERY building and not just the important ones? when they implement multiplayer in 2021/2? who knows. all I know is that when you play it, just like any crime ridden city it'll swallow you whole and it's up to you how you let it.

side note: I mentioned the thing about buildings, there's still a lot to go in and explore because of the crazy amount of quests in the game. additional note, I would very much like the option to get addicted to amphetamines and go on a punching spree but that's just me...

When it comes to strategy games, you won't find many that outperform Stellaris. The game throws a lot at you and above all else the AI is designed to make even easy mode a memorable experience. You'll always be chasing numbers, scaling is a thing until you turn it off. But even with all of this, you'll still dump hours and hours of your life into the game trying to get it right. The best part, you're not even mad when it's happening. Problem is, there's RNG all over the place and no two matches are alike. This game is worth it for the sheer replay factor, let alone the detailed customization or depth of choice. Slap it in the wishlist, follow the game, even if grand strategy games aren't you're thing you'll still have fun derping around.

Update, 20201228: So as you can see I've dumped a massive amount of time into this game and I've learned some idiosyncrasies that have kind of changed my view a bit. Before I begin...check my profile, I have screenshots of some of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and some great times. So I've learned that Stellaris does not play by it's own rules. It's meant to be hard and it generates a great level of challenge on any difficulty. But sometimes the player plays too well. I've encountered several "cheating" Ai in the game that just ruined several sessions. I've had hyper-lanes appear out of nowhere to give the enemy an undefended route into my territory, I've had my border policy change without my input, I've had to deal with rage inducing spores that nearly crippled a planet made of non-sentient robots, I've even had my ship's loadout change mid-trip cutting its attack power down by 60%. The game is fun, don't get me wrong. You'll get a lot out of it. But it's like playing with a sibling who gets frustrated and starts putting in cheat codes. Do I still recommend this game? I give that question an emphatic yes. Should you be prepared for the game to change the rules on the fly forcing you to reconfigure a whole empire? Also yes. When it comes to 4x games I doubt you'll find many that top this title. However after ignoring my family for almost two weeks, I can safely say that my time is better spent elsewhere. Have your fun, don't play longer than 7 hours or you will see all your strategy and management go out the window because that seems to be the sweetspot for the game to start throwing curveballs that change trajectory 6 times before teleporting behind you to hit you in the head.

I've purchased this game on multiple platforms. Yes, it is that engrossing if you are a true Sci-Fi fan. Between the backdrop and the in-game history alone, as long as you're paying attention to what's being said you'll enjoy being along for the ride. Combat takes some getting used to due to an atypical stat calculation system and the need to move tactically; Think Dark Souls but with less overlapping stats. Graphically, for its time, it was an amazing job from such a small studio. Facial expressions were a bit...nonexistent and character design got a little rough. This gets overshadowed by the great voice acting that took place. Granted the characters won't seem as expressive as you'd normally associate, but there's lore behind why they are somewhat stoic.

Overall, this game is worth adding to your library despite its deficiencies. It's a cult fandom for the same reasons Firefly and the Riddick anthology are.

This is how most asymmetrical games should be. No perks or crazy upsets, just you, your wits, and careful planning. If you're looking for tense, psychological paranoia coupled with the feeljoy feeling of making fast friends with strangers, this is it.

ok I'm gonna keep it real here....This game is frustrating as hell, has some s*** voice acting from time to time, Horrid soundtrack, crushing difficulty for those who just follow the main quest, and some awkward conversations. Like for real this game has been a massive source of frustration for me.......but I'll be a monkey's gynecologist if I deny that it's still fun. Once you level a bit and pool some resources, the game gets much less hard. Once you unlock the ability to transform and summon your beast, she gets even MOAR fun. I'm recommending this based on the fact that if you're more stubborn than this title is unforgiving, you can have a butload of fun with it.

Pros:
-deep story
-multiple clans of vampire to play as and interact with
-freedom of choice in progression
-engrossing maccabre atmosphere
-THIS IS HOW VAMPIRES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE (realistic representation)
-wealth of powers and weapons to eviscerate or pummel your enemies with
-character driven conversation choices (persuade? seduce? threaten?)

Cons:
-long overdue for graphics overhaul (there's mods)
-certain conversations/encounters are broken but do not detract from the game
-hard to shoot with new characters
-depending on your OS and hardware, may be buggy
-certain key plot events cannot be changed (curiosity is the only reason you'd want to)
-once you screw up, it's a downward slippery slope

I've played this game since it first came out over 10 years ago, and brutha lemme tell you; It. Never. Gets. Old. We have a deep DEEEP story filled with vampire lore and the ability to choose how you maneuver through both the world and combat. Stealth, rambo, manipulation are always on the table for every encounter save a few choice moments where there would clearly be no other choice but to fight.

We have an astounding soundtrack full of big name bands from yesteryear to set the 'gothic' tone of the game. Combine the soundtrack with what I would say is a 98% fully voiced over game with CONVINCING voice acting and you can get swallowed up pretty quickly.

Graphically this game is beyond it's time. for a 2004 title to still be playable and enjoyable in 2017 says something great about it's developers. one or four character models may be a bit wonky (no seriously there's no way that guy's jaw is shaped like that) but with a bit of imagination, they just look like scars or genetic defects

as far as gameplay is concerned, it's up to you brutha. I've gone through whole playthroughs using nothing but powers, fueled by the blood of my enemies and a few bloodpacks in my inventory (I MUST FEEEEEEEEEED). I've done whole melee playthoughs (last boss was tricky af). I've even just used fists (preferred method) the whole way through. Your clan choice helps steer you in a particular direction but in the end it's up to you how you fight.

Additional note about clans: they DO alter conversations and offer specific side quests. And once you can unlock a history, those too add some subtle changes to how you play. You'd think puking from feeding from a bum or rat wouldn't affect you much until you're out of options.

All in all, this game is a for sure buy. Even redemption (think diablo) is worth the purchase. If you want an A-class game without the flowery HD graphics or gimmicks that are in most modern titles, this is it.

This game is quite artistic, not necessarily graphically (ok it kinda is there too) but contrary to popular belief there is a story that takes some thought to understand. Once you do, it'll make you re-think some things.

Gameplay is as addictive as it is smoth and deep. If you want to blow through the game like rambo, you can easily do so. But more creative players will find many means of finesse and creativity to finish a level. Story levels only have but so many ways to complete them, but endless mode is where you can truly experiment. I found myself attempting to recreate the final scene from equalibrium with how one can throw and catch weapons in mid air

People keep knocking the price, but to me it is well deserved. We have a deep psychological digital/cyberpunk story (digipunk???), a time lag system that has you constantly strategizing, and a big say in how the player fights.

All in all, I'd say that this game is a definite buy, because you WILL end up screaming "SUPER! HOT!" at least once while fueled from the epic manuver that you just pulled (I'm a master of D**K shots and it never gets old). And reviews are constantly forgetting that this title is being updated regularly with plans for DLC that will expand/open up the story a bit for the slow mos that didn't get it. Wait for a sale if you have to, but this game is a definite buy for anyone who enjoys gunplay, bullet time, and psychological manipulation.

If you haven't discovered this magnum opus of star wars action titles, first slap yourself, then buy this. Not an option, you must do this for the sake of your immortal soul.

If ever you've wanted to know what it was like to fight as a Jedi/Sith, this is the title for you.

fast paced saber battles
devastating weaponry
great story mode showing how much of a failure Luke Skywalker really is
siege mode in multiplayer.....

Ok.....This title is another love/hate relationship. I gotta say that the only reason I keep playing is because this is a fantasy world that is worth exploring. Even if the game is linear and short, you'll still play again for the vibrant characters (semi ok voice acting) and level design. The "at your fingertips" combat gets BIG ups from me; my main boggle (demolition man reference ftw) is that the game kinda leaves you stranded on your own A LOT, and unless you've farmed/got lost and leveled a bit you will get your keister handed to you a few times until you learn how to strategize the battle in your favor.

Now earlier I said Vibrant characters....If you can put up with the akward voice acting (I think it's the quality of the voice) the characters are each lovable in their own right (Alish being the omission and exception bc of da booteh). Don't go into first person because it will ruin the beautiful art style of the landscapes in some scenarios. But in terms of combat effects, this title does it pretty damn good. Your techniques are wonderfully animated and never boring to look at. Your enemies won't like them too much because they'll either be turned into soup of bled out like a stuck pig (kudos for gore, always).

Story wise.....Wait there was a story!? All jokes aside, the story is a bit lackluster as character motivations are nearly nonexistant beyond "Hey lets go do these things, because....magic and reasons". It's there, just sort of hard to follow along with.

This title gets a GO from me, based on the fact that it's nice to look at, fun to make stuff dead, and once you uncover the lore it becomes a gem.

Ever have a girlfriend that pisses you off to no end, but you keep coming back because she does something interesting to make up for it??? That's Alpha Protocol.

Here we have a stealth RPG like no other. Real time progression in terms of character, and story. This game will have you playing JUST because you want to develop character relationships or explore alternate means of navigating a situation. Unless you play the EXACT same choices in the same fashion, it's very hard to play the same game twice. Everything from Thorton's backstory to how you complete your missions is held into account. This game does an amazing job of putting you in the role and giving you the wheel of your own conspiracy. If ever you've fantasized about being a spy...this title will work for you.

Sound is....pretty darn good. Could have some more music, but this game was built around characters and story and the voice acting saves it on this regard.

Graphically this title meets the industry standard at the time, save a few character designs (Russian lady looks like a PS1 character from the neck down)

Ok now I gotta give it to SEGA and Obsidian. More time was spent on the story, relationships, and overall "social" aspect of the game than the actual game itself I'll just list the gripes

>SUPER easy to get caught if you don't invest in stealth and just walk around invisiblce. After a while, you learn how to stay hidden to this title's standard and cuzzin, it's kinda goofy.
>VERY limited resources to prepare for missions, you will be flying blind on the first playthrough and even after that, you'll be scrambling for money for some decent gear.
>CLUNKY combat: aiming a weapon will take you time if you want to hit, Thorton is a stormtrooper, no other explaination. The hand to hand flows WAY better than the gunplay and brutha..lemme tell you that the hand to hand is oddly reminiscent ot Tao Feng: enter the fist. However the takedown animations are horrendously satisfying, even if there are only a handful.

To be honest, I recommend this title quite highly, despite the frustration of navigating through it. That is a learning curve that once mastered and properly coped with, is negligable. THE STORY AND DEVELOPMENT ARE WELL WORTH IT.
