It's a good game again that EVERYBODY can have access to, no thanks to SNOY :)

They've introduced a fomo system of removing content forever if you don't grind the game like a job or shell out the funds for it. I can't in good conscience recommend this game when it's abusing one of my most hated game industry methods of desperately trying to recoup lost funds by taking advantage of the community.

Okay, so this game is about 20USD. It's still "in early access". That's not good. It's hardly touched by the devs. Also not good. BUT! Butbutbutbutbut hear me out. While I do NOT approve leaving a game dead in early access, while I do understand the complaints of bugs not being patched, and balancing issues, while I do get that, here's my take on the situation.

For the amount of content provided, for the amount of creatures you can tame and recruit, for the size of the world and for how filled it is, with not much blank empty space, for the fidelity of the game, for the FREE DLC, just for what is on offer here:

The game is DEFINITELY worth 20 bucks. Even if it's just for the single player. All they have to do to make this game just fine as a 1.0 release is update the dev tools so mods can be made and updated, and add an npc follower system and co-op conan exiles style. Maybe even NPC camps. If they do that, and fix the bugs, MAYBE tweak the most egregious balancing issues, this game can easily be considered a finished product well worth 20, or even 30 bucks. 40 is where I'd be protesting. If only for the game being barely touched and the servers being shut down.

I mean I tried it once and refunded but hey it's free for now. Definitely worth hanging onto for mods, and when you get bored you can boot it up for some quick fun.

Yo this hurts but crapcom went and did a big dumb again. C'mon, I just wanna bash like 50 mobs at once with nero's devil breaker, and do it at x1.5 speed, I don't like having to mod it in for you when I'd rather just pay for an upgrade or something.

We're literally saying shut up and take my money, and capcom's just like "Nah dude we cool".

Should you buy this game? Yes. Should you play this game? With a friend and a good connection, yes. But if you just go out and matchmake with the p2p connections, there's a guarentee you'll run into game breaking lag less than 20 hours in at some point. I want this game to not die, and absolutely I want this game to do well, and maybe get a sequel with more sword moves, but damn they gotta set up some dedicated servers.

Game is super fun. Bland early-mid game design for most weapons though. Bring back the gun hammer already. Also fewer monsters than most if not all monster hunter games, at least after the second game. But the game will get free updates. Had a pretty bad launch with server/connection issues. Still having issues? Instead of review bombing the game, go to the main menu/quest board. Go to online session --> Filter Search. Your welcome. Couple more steps than just going to 'matchmake' but meh. Although some coordinated friend sessions were having trouble still. Seems with the latest update most of those issues have been fixed. Gonne be pretty peeved if I don't get the dante suit or behemoth hunt though. Really looking forward to it.

I bought this game to mod it. I don't play online. The game is sort of fun with mods. A good time waster. Well it was. Until they banned mods. Now they update it at a ridiculous rate because they gotta have their kiddies and thug life whales with more money than sense buy all their shark cards, so most the good mods aren't really updated too often. If at all. I really don't like take two.

Kinda sucks I have to use my review for SSE to access this store page since it was hidden. You know, because it won't be getting the microcancer the special edition and fallout 4 are getting.

Review bomb the ♥♥♥♥ out of the Special Edition, it's the only one folks are going to see anymore anyway.

04/07/2020 Update: 2,000 hours in and I'm still triggered by creation club. Good to see Bethesda burning. Hope to see ES6 is as good as the better elder scrolls games. WITHOUT microtransactions.
