I understand and agree with a lot of the criticism of the game. Yes, war is half-baked and often times more attention-intensive then the unit systems of the past. Yes, diplomacy with the AI is often times frustrating or esoteric. Yes, the amount of bugs in the game at launch are a concern. However, I have truly had a great experience with the game so far. I've found the economics and politics systems to be substantially rewarding and fun to engage with, and I have faith that with time the diplomacy and warfare can be brought to a standard of depth and quality that allows the game to truly spread its wings.
