Frostpunk 2 builds on the foundations laid by its predecessor, offering a deeper, more complex city-building survival experience, but currently lacks the breadth of content needed to fully deliver on its potential.
The game's mechanics are a clear evolution, introducing new layers of strategy and moral decision-making that lay out a great foundation for future dlc’s and mods. The atmosphere remains gripping, with an expanded narrative scope that pulls you into the desperate struggle of humanity in a frozen wasteland.

As of now, the content feels somewhat thin, having completed the main storyline thinking there was more. This makes the experience feel more like a promising start rather than a fully realised sequel. I’d strongly recommend playing the first Frostpunk before diving into this one.

Overall, Frostpunk 2 is a worthy follow-up with a lot of potential, but it’s one to watch as future updates bring more depth and variety. If you enjoyed the first game, you’ll find plenty to like here—but it might be best to wait for more content or purchase the deluxe version to get the most out of this game when future updates occur.
