Eastward is a game I had waited for since it was announced back in 2018 and it was absolutely worth the wait. The game is absolutely gorgeous and brings me back to the early 2000's when I would play Pokemon on my DSI. I absolutely adore pixel games, especially ones that are about to make me feel nostalgic for my early childhood. The story line is perfect and its complimented by the beautiful atmosphere of the game. I have absolutely zero complaints about the game, it's a mix of everything I love in a video game. I cannot recommend this game more.

One thing I will recommend is a controller for when you play the game. Mouse and keyboard can be a bit complicated and difficult and I definitely had a better time using a controller (PS4 specifically).

I don't even know where to start with this review because this game is so good. A Hat in Time is one of my top games, full stop. You play as this little girl known as Hat Kid and she goes on these adventures to different worlds via her many telescopes in her spaceship. Oh yeah, I said spaceship. She's a little girl who lives in a space ship with telescopes that take her to different lands/planets. Did I mention she has magical hats? Well she has six of them and they all do different things. Do you start off with these hats? Pfft, no, that would be too easy. You start off with one, the main hat, known as Kid's Hat. Pretty obvious. Anyway, throughout the game you collect these balls of yarn and if you have enough you can go into your inventory and craft new hats. Cool thing about these hats is you can earn customizations for them. So if you don't like how the originals look, you can change them and the hats will still serve the same purpose. Another cool thing, if you don't like the customizations within the game you can join the modding community and download all custom hat mods to your liking, you can never lose.

This game is full of parkour and puzzles. Some being simple and others requiring a lot more thinking or skills. Some of the parkour is frustrating and makes me rage but I keep playing because Hat Kid threatens to steal all my pons. Kidding. If you're not good at platformers or parkour, I hope your doors are closed because your neighbors might file a noise complaint. And don't even get me started on the timed levels. While they are fun but STRESSFUL it can be a bit annoying when you're inches away from your goal with like 5 seconds on the clock and you left click to swing on the hook but it doesn't respond TWICE so you miss it and fail the level. IM LOOKING AT YOU TRAIN RUSH, YOU CAUSED ME SO MUCH PAIN. Aside from my pain, there is a cool feature in settings that can allow you to have a speedrunner timer if you would like to speedrun the game. I've considered it MANY times but the amount of rage this game can cause me from my inability to do simple jumps or because Hat Kid is smacking her toys together, trying to make them kiss, for the 11th time tends to overpower that thought.

All jokes and saltiness aside, (I'll still never forgive train rush) A Hat in Time is a very funny and wholesome game. There's many things to do and explore and even things to collect! You can collect stickers that you can use as emotes when interacting with other people. Oh, Other people you say? Yep its multiplayer but for a small fee. Once you pay that you'll be able to open a portal on your spaceship and unleash pure chaos which is also known as the A Hat in Time community. They're just a bunch of trolls and memers, I hope you have the patience. No but seriously, online mode is really fun. You can play with random people or a bunch of your friends and maybe reek havoc on Mafia Town, I dunno you do you buddy. There's absolutely nothing better than a bunch of tiny children slapping enemies in the kneecaps with an umbrella.

Anyways, in cod we trust.

Stardew Valley is a beautiful game that was perfectly crafted. Its my favorite game and the best video game I've ever played in my 13 years of gaming. This game has absolutely everything I've ever wanted in a video game so that's why its so close to my heart.

If you've never played this game before or know absolutely nothing about it, I can promise you that it isn't just your stereotypical farming game. There is so much more to it. There's a story (that is completely optional), farming, mining, fighting, fishing, exploring, crafting, designing, relationships (like dating and marriage), children (you can have up to two kids and you can still have kids if you're a gay couple!), and so much more that I don't want to spoil. There's also a giant community of modders who use texture packs or mods that add new content to the game so you never get bored! Regardless of the mods, there's a lot of areas to unlock and explore and many secrets within the game. Secret places, secret items, secret achievements. You'll be surprised with how you'll always discover something new or maybe learn something about the game you never knew before.

If my writing has almost helped to convince you to buy Stardew Valley, then let me tell you one more thing! Stardew Valley is multiplayer! You can play with up to three other friends on a farm together. You can either create a farm with three other houses for your friends or you can have the carpenter build them on your farm for a small fee if you already have a farm started. And guess what, if you don't want them on your save anymore you can go to the carpenter and she can demolish the houses.

Quick things to know:
- singleplayer & multiplayer
- not just a farming sim
- you can date/marry whether it be straight or gay
- you can have kids
- customizable character
- customizable house/farm
- you can use mods
- available on multiple platforms

I HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone who will give it a chance. Its such a peaceful and relaxing game that is really good at helping you drown out reality for a few hours.
