Phenomenal game. Very well made and would love to see either a sequel or some kind of expansion for the game that adds chapters.

I very much want to continue this duck's struggling detective agency.

Truthfully I have mixed feelings about it. Most of the complaints are about Epic but my thing from a solo player perspective:

They've improved upon the game graphically and mechanically. It's not graphics intensive which is fantastic and mechanically it operates SOOO much better. The balancing is better, I feel less like an absolute unit at all times, health doesn't feel like it's as abundant as air, essentially the player is nerfed but not so much so as to be useless. The menus are better to manage, the game is a lot more clear about things. Overall it's brilliant in these categories.

However, there's a lot less love and care for the environment in this game. Forget the "Island" in the name because it's only metaphorical, to me that just stings as an environment and makes it feel more like a "classic" zombie story where the city is quarantined off, blah blah blah. You've heard this song and dance before. It's not as fascinating an environment to me because the concrete jungle and gold coast just doesn't compare to the island environment from the first game. I know Banoi can't be the environment again but that doesn't mean we have to move to West Coast America.

Where I'm mixed on is the story and quest volume. I know a game shouldn't be endless or needlessly long but I feel like for a game like this, it just doesn't quite feel long enough. It feels like it needs to be longer than it is. Getting it half off still feels like it's asking for more than it deserves. I ALMOST feel like I got my money's worth in terms of story volume. But it's the side quests that get me, or rather, the abhorrent lack of them. There is, so far as I can tell, exactly one side quest every "chapter" and that doesn't sit right with me, I feel like I'm not getting much out of that to compensate for the already short story.

Dialogue is one that I'm on the fence about. The player feels like they have more of an active roll in the game which is good, but the studio didn't care enough to bother even determining between "he" and "she," that or they wanted to avoid pronoun issues... All things considered though, I doubt that that would've matter in the first place if it is the reason for doing so.

Some aspects of the game felt more like they included it just so we could pog at references to the first game which is a bit insulting imo. I don't know why Sam was here and it honestly takes away from the first game by canonizing that HE was the one that was there that night. Emma saying "It feels like we're on an island" makes me cringe because again, it really feels more like it's just there to spit in our face more than anything. A moment to get excited about without actually giving us a reason to be excited about it.

Overall, I feel like most of the story could've been achieved on a tropical island without any real significant changes and without the references to the first game and it would've felt far better than this one does. I recommend it because it is a fun game all the same, but it's a bit upsetting if you've played the first one.

Killing zombies is so much more visceral and entertaining that the first one was and I love that to say the least. I think honestly, I blame the game being given to the wrong group of nerds. Co-developed by a mid company and then handed off to a company that produced only one game by themselves and co-developed the other.

If Post Game had:

- Serious conveyor belts
- Serious and silly mail (from blue/yellow/red packages to whole beds or mannequins)
- Silly backgrounds/environments

Post Game could become something special I think

Phenomenal game. Absolute banger.

Not much to say on this one. If you haven't played it, I highly recommend. Wish there was more like it.

It's a pretty good game, however if you're looking for a game that truly compares to the original then I'm sorry to say that this one misses the mark.

Comparing the two we can understand what the concerns are:
- In the first game, you were truly alone, the last time humans were here their habitats were in good shape. Now those habitats are old, rusty, and full of poisonous stinging plants who make their homes in caves. The habitats were there so long they are like artificial caves for some life. The other structures there clearly haven't seen use in quite some time.
- In this game everything feels like it was fine up until a month ago.

- There's a sense of urgency with the original. The disease is lethal. Best case scenario you eat an enzyme carrying pepper and you stop the disease from killing you, but you're still infected. You can NEVER go home. At least not until you find a cure, which has thus far proven to not be creatable.
- You can leave whenever you want, you just choose to stick around because you're convinced you can find your sister.

- The atmosphere is tense. Creature sounds in the distance that are haunting. Shapes far larger than you lurking just on the edge of visibility. The only thing you can cling to in your old life is a smoldering heap and leftover debris scattered around the world. Your only friend is a computerized voice on a tablet. Everyone else you "knew" are now only ghosts recorded on similar tablets.
- This game? Not so much. It's cold and you wonder if you can make it through the snow and howling winds. The creatures underwater are scary but not nearly terrifying. You wonder if everyone is alright instead of wishing someone else was alive.

Is it a good game? Absolutely. Does it stand up as tall as the first game? No. There are certainly bits I liked in this game but it doesn't feel like the same Planet 4546B, which is understandable but...

An absolutely phenomenal game.

This is something like a demo but fleshed out so much that it almost feels like a complete game. An inkling at one point suggests the game will let us get to a 1000m depth but we can only reach 300m before the game cuts us off at the end of the EA portion.

I highly recommend this game to others and the devs seem very attentive. A lot of love and care is going into this game and they have put a lot of thought into reeling you in without showing everything before it's ready.

There's such an involved story that I almost felt like it was a game that would cut you off completely and make you replay the same day over and over at the end of the EA. NOPE, you basically enter endless.

Cannot wait to see what lies in store for us after 300m

I'm already enjoying this game quite a bit.

My two major complaints thus far into the game are:
That the music is repetitive and annoying (I have turned it off to enjoy my own music)
You can only have one save slot despite the fact that at least three different story lines exist. I know it is a mobile game ported to steam but damn, three storylines but one save is frustrating.

I rather enjoy this game. On your first playthrough it's pretty open and free.

It's a bit restrictive after that which is something I was a bit worried about so I hope the developers will continue to update the game. The main concern is that there's not so much to do differently except encounter other people's stories. Some suggestions I might make would be:

- Delinquent actions, like stealing or sneaking out of the house or some other things like those
- Gifts, particularly stuff you can't buy in stores, adding some uniqueness and really giving some oomf to gifts
- More characters, I can already see the kinds of issues that can crop up, I'm sure this one will get worked on
- More customization options, feels like it could really widen the freedom of the game
- Ease up with the parents. I get that some parents expect too much but jesus every parent in this game expects too much. Make some of them be pretentious but not all of them.
- PLEASE add more parent interactions, I feel like interacting with the parents is the same every run through
- I would like it if the parents had more variety appearnace-wise and were less...generic (relatively speaking)
