Great game.

I'll start with the positives.

The greatest asset of this game is its vibrant world. The humor is great and the whole game oozes style. For this alone the game is worth a playthrough.

One of the best things about the game is how natural the leveling system is. The levels have been designed and balanced so perfectly you will never be under or over leveled. You will never have to grind enemies to advance, or restrict yourself to stay on level. The balance in this game is the best ive ever seen in an RPG.

For its price tag, the game has an enormous amount of content (12+ hours to play through the end of the story, 30+ hours for side quests). The quests and missions are also not all identical collectathons or "kill __ things". The entirety of the game has a very genuine and colorful feel, and is well worth its price tag.

It is not a flawless game however.

A small problem is enemy variety. For almost the entirety of the base game, you will either be fighting bandits or loaderbots, with little else. The game itself has a huge roster of enemy types, but these novel types are rarely used. The loaderbots especially get really repetitive, and this is especially frustrating considering they had a number of very interesting Hyperion enemies they couldve used more to make it feel less repetitive.

My main gripe with the game is the "True Vault Hunter" and "Ultimate Vault Hunter" modes. Rather than make more content to help you naturally level, you are forced to replay the story mode 2 more times to reach level cap, which is a very cheap way to artificially inflate playtime, and the very funny and well voiced story is just not the same once you have to endure it repeatedly.

Some other miscenlaneous opinions I have are that once you hit Ultimate vault hunter mode you are practically forced into using exploitative loadouts or speccing heavily into 1 playstyle, which I find to be a bit restrictive especially considering its an RPG.

The flaws in the game are relatively minor, and if you just play through the first 30 levels and the DLC youll probably have no problems at all with the game.

Fantastic game as any other Total war, just wish they would finally implement better ragdoll mechanics for deaths and fighting that doesnt look so goofy.

I am so very happy I heard of this game

Mount and blade warband is a very very fun game. Single player campaigns are very fun, and growing your army over time is very very fun. The game is really made though by its modding community. The game has mods for practically every historical setting, meaning this games replayability is virtually unlimited.

Multiplayer has a steep learning curve because the games combat system is very punishing to new players. The Napoleonic Wars DLC makes multiplayer much much more fun however. I have not played another game that executed 18th century warfare as well as this game.

My main problem with this games combat is that there are only 3 variant death animations in the entire game for multiplayer, and hitboxes go away the second an enemy dies, meaning its very easy to accidently TK. THis makes your hits feel less real and lowers your immersion.

9/10, only held back a few minor issues

Best of the genre

I am going to review the game as if it didn't have DLC because a game should be playable without DLC.

Grand strategy games often have problems juggling overbearing game mechanics and replayability. EU4 does not have this problem. The bar for entry is high if you aren't familiar with grand strategy, but not so much that it would frustrate a new player. EU4's true standout in the genre is its infinite replayability. The lack of in game artificial objectives makes challenging yourself and setting your own goals the main focus of the game. Being able to play anywhere in the world is great, although playing outside Europe or the Middle East is nearly impossible (without buying the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ horrendous amount of DLC).

A lot of things in the game are far too reliant on chance, like monarch skill. Considering monarch points are so necessary for rudimentary things like improving tech and getting ideas, making them totally chance is a bit antithetical to the strategic aspect of the game. Additionally, the lack of an advanced ai that allows you to interact more realistically with other nations holds it back as well (this is resolved by The Cossacks DLC which should be free since its literally resolving a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ issue with the game).

7/10, fantastic game with a few blaring issues.

Unfortunately poor compared to other games of the genre

There are a few active multiplayer servers, but finding a server in Europe or NA isn't a problem. The problems in this game come in the mechanics. Whereas other source shooters have nearly impeccable shooting mechanics (like CS:GO and TF2), DoD has an engine and mechanics that encourage camping and are not nearly as responsive or polished. Recoil is far too high for some weapons, and others are far too punishing. the bullet spread on weapons like the k98, plus the fact that the weapon has a 1.5 second cooldown makes it difficult to recover from bad RNG. The best way to explain this games problems is to compare it to CS:GO, another valve shooter on the same engine. While DoDS has spread mechanics and different weapon types as well as near instant death, CS:GO's execution is nearly flawless while DoDS lacks polish.

While great at the time, the game lacks polish by todays standards and there are clearly better games on the market.

4/10

Đánh giá CS:GO
Damn near perfect game

Impeccable shooting mechanics, high skill ceiling, and brilliant map design. This game is bound to excite. The shooting mechanics of this game do not use a spam fire method, but make you place your shots. Additionally, nobody is a bullet sponge in this game. Placement and tactics are as much a part in this game as aim. 5v5 competitive format is my personal favorite, though the 10v10 casual is almost equally fun.

The games shooting mechanics emphasize placement and strategy more than blind charges. The learning curve isnt bad at all either since aiming is not the only skill in this game.

10/10, close to no issues except the lack of any really good community servers
