I've ran through a couple of games now and have formed enough of an opinion to leave a review.

-Overall: Positive
To put it bluntly, the game feels good. I enjoy the ages and the adaptability throughout the game play. Outside of some UI issues the overall game architecture (how the game progresses) feels polished and well thought out. I am used to playing heavily modded rounds and I feel that this is an excellent base to expand from.

-Interface: negative
The game interface. Oh my does it need some work. I've addressed 95% of my issues with mods (Sukritact has a good one), but as is, it isn't all that user friendly. My main gripes are the city interface, unit upgrades while on a commander and unit selection. I also without fail will forget the names of the cities I want to trade at the propose peace diplomatic screen EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. A minimization option would be so so so nice.

-Ages: Positive
I absolutely love the ages in this game. I always felt that the eras in 6 were pretty weak. The push for distant settlements is quite enjoyable drives you to do things you probably wouldn't of planned for. An example, in one game I was going all in on economic. The distant lands were one large body with absolutely nowhere left to settle. This led to a 'global war' drawing in every civ in the game. It was a lot of fun.
The other thing that's enjoyable is that there's always a goal. In each age the conditions are well laid out and provide a consistent bonus towards your goals.

-Warfare: Positive
I expect some are frustrated with the settlement cap, but I enjoy the fact that I can no longer just SWEEP the map. What you take, how you expand, and capturing a lot of settlements are extremely impactful, creating, in my eyes, a more strategic aproach to warfare.
The generals or commanders are an excellent addition to the game. There's nothing that frustrated me more in previous games than trying to move floods of units. The stacking and General bonuses feel good and well balanced.

-Buildings: Mostly Positive
I don't have much to say here other than that strong cities can be decimated via unhappiness at the start of a new age with little way to address it. The options themselves feel fairly well balanced as well as necessary. Converting to cities to build feels necessary and impactful. When an age rolls over the buildings no longer provide their (full) yields but still require their gold/happiness maintenance. On one hand I like that you take a hit by having obsolete buildings but the happiness impact can be a kick in the nuts.

-Religion: Good?
So religion in this game... It's kind of part of the military aspect of the mid game. Overall it feels a lot less important than in previous games. The phrasing of the benefits seems a little odd and I still haven't figured out how to fill out all of the beliefs. Maybe it's tied to other civ's? My main use at this point is keeping settlements happy in a crisis.

-Crisis: Positive
From an evolutionary standpoint it adds to the story of your civ and gives a nice little challenge. They are impactful, I almost lost everything in a happiness crisis on my first play through. It makes you think, be careful and plan.

So, Ive logged more hrs in this game than i'd care to admit.
1. I played civ 5 a lot before this came out, and have been pretty happy with it.
2. between the last two major updates, the game has progressed quite a bit.
3. MODS.MODS.MODS. Just check out the mods for the game. If you arent happy, then you didnt look hard enough.
4. I play in 4k, the game just runs SMOOTH. I have a GTX 1080 and am just happy the game is optimized so well
5. The new matchmaking tweaks they've added this year have been pretty solid.

And that's all i've got to say about that.

For a lack of better words it just doesnt feel crisp. It is rather unpolished and the game pace IS WAY TOO SLOW to walk around for 10 years then get 2 tapped from someone leaning around the edge of a tree from a lightyear away. If you buy it.. have fun, i sure didn't.

Simply works as it should, and does a good job at that. I picked up the software a year or two ago, and have ran into little to no issues at all. I began to use Action GRS because of the low cpu impact compared to say OBS and XSPLIT (in my own use). I'd recommend it over spending money on a capture card or other recording system if you're looking to get a decent product at about half the cost of an acceptable quality capture card (IE. 1080p Avermedia card for around $120 usd).

cool game, love the gamemodes, and the concept of the huge deathmatch, only problem, game runs like crap. I have to play on low settings with:
GTX 970
i7-4790K
12 gigs of ram
and installed on an ssd.
After all of that, i manage choppy 60fps. I love the game, but it needs work

Absolutely marvelous and beutiful graphics, played on an MSI gtx 970 with i5 750 oc'd to 3.91ghz, 8 gigs ram, earned me roughly 80 fps average throughout the entire game with very little framedrop. Highly suggest it to those who love the horror games that like to kreep the F**k out of you. thanks the devs who have kept the patches keep on comin.
