I'd like to start this review by letting you know this was my first Resident Evil experience. As much as i loved Horror and Gore in my movies as a child/ teen, i preferred a more uplifting mood when it came to the video games i played. I recently watched some footage of RE: Village and was instantly hooked to the world it created and as my tech isn't the most powerful, running that game on my PC wouldn't be a fun experience for either me or my poor outdated set-up. So i decided, i would try RE:7! I downloaded the game, played for around an hour on standard mode and then shakily turned the game off.

I WAS SCARED.

As i said my experience with Horror games leaves nothing to the imagination. I assumed being an adult, i would be able to handle the jump scares and silly things the game does to in-still fear in the player. What i was not prepared for was Jack Baker.
Being chased through the halls of the Baker plantation and being forced into a tunnel that led to a safe room, i realised it wouldn't be the experience i was expecting.
I later returned to the game motivated to tackle whatever it threw at me and i'm glad i did.
I have as of now finished all achievements related to the base game, completed all game difficulties and i feel proud to have conquered a game that made me feel so weak and feeble to begin with... now armed with every upgrade, power tool and weapon, i'm not trapped inside the plantation with the Bakers, they are trapped inside here with me.

This is a FANTASTIC game. Although the learning curve is a little difficult to begin with, sticking at the game can be extremely rewarding especially if you learn the tricks and tips of the game (which are available all over the internet and there are video tutorials to help) for example using the chainsaws and books combined to make an extremely powerful weapon that will last you half the game. Achievement hunting on this game can be rewarding too, unlocking outfits for Frank and giving you weapons that will respawn in the safe room for you to use and coast through the hardest missions in the game! The time limit, whilst annoying in low levels or your first time playing, can be fun to learn how to get around certain limits and allow you to complete the game with all survivors saved and it feel very accomplishing to do so. This game is so fun and reward i'd recommend it to anyone who loves a challenge and loves to unveil the secrets that are hidden in games!
