It's Baldur's Gate 3, but action RPG.
Reviews are misleading cuz of EA hate etc, don't trust them.
10/10, my personal GOTY, haven't been so immersed since DA:O times.

Please release DA:O remake or at least remaster.

If I imagine my dad didn't go out for milk and never came back, but was an archaeologist instead who went on expedition, the game really helps to cope.
10/10, best therapeutic experience.
+ Improves and builds on 2013 in every way with lots of new mechanics, more polished visuals and somewhat better story.

Ehhh 60 fps lock, graphics looks like it was made in early 2000 and very rubber physics.
AND it's ubisoft with ubi launcher and all the other good stuff.
Can't recommend even at 1$.
Should've bought Forza 4 at -80% earlier this year, but you didn't, did you?

Overall too much trouble for a 70$ game, just way too many annoyances. All the things above should be included in the base game except for WeMod (money and other resources should be better balanced instead). Also massive plot holes, bugged quests and some other junk. Only 4 active abilities at the time (devs don't like pc plebs with more buttons - waiting for a mod).

It can be a great game but only with a decent number of mods and some conscious efforts from devs.

UPD: Locked myself out of the game on Hugo quest. Can't imagine restarting after 30 hours in. Not having an adequate save system has directed consequences on your customers.

Unfortunately after finishing the game I can't keep my review positive anymore.
You wanna advertise your game like a souls game and so I'm gonna review it like one.

Fundamental problem with this game is dev/s responsible for balancing/mob/boss design think that chore&grind = difficulty, but unfortunately it's not and it's NOT fun for most players.
What makes souls-likes fun is different enemy movesets that pressure you into learning/adapting/improving at dealing with certain enemy time. And 70%+ of this game is not the case, it's artificial difficulty simulator and it shows everywhere mechanics-wise and dev-thinking-wise and I'm gonna give you an example:
You can't put a couple of parasites midst large enemy group and think that's level of 'difficulty' that would be satisfying for souls players. Like really, there is no skill involved, minimal to none brain usage, it's just a CHORE and ANNOYANCE. This is what about most negative reviews are, and reducing mob density is not really a solution. The initial mob design needs to be changed to put more pressure with moveset, but for that dev thinking about 'souls-difficulty' needs to be changed, and I don't think it's an option at this point. If I wanted to play a wave cleanse game- I would play it, but I'm here, dragged by 'souls-like' marketing, which turns out to be a false promotion. You got the formula wrong with regular mobs/groups.

- Jumping is meh, you have to sprint first and then press jump, idk why, just another big annoyance. On top of this there are so many places where you can jump/roll and die, simply because of those controls. If the aim was to add 'difficulty' again, I'm here to disappoint.

- Reducing number of vestiges in subsequent NG+ doesn't add actual difficulty that you were aiming for, it adds artificial one and is a big annoyance rather than a challenge. Not being able to backtrack to a certain npc location without running back for an hour is just another annoyance and confirms the initial statement about dev thinking since it's a post-release announcement.

- Final boss is a disappointment as are about 75% bosses in the game.

- Lock on mechanic is completely broken, it picks not the targets i'm directly looking at most of the time (how hard is it to fix it before actual release?)
- Coop is rarely playable, no scaling/downscaling to the host, extreme stuttering and connection errors in most cases unless you get extremely lucky. Idk for sure if it's ping, but region selection for online play would be really nice.
- Decision about releasing the game in this state is very questionable, I feel like a beta tester tbh.

The good:
- Level design is Dark Souls 1 level, maybe better, and I'm not exaggerating (excluding enemy groups ofc).
- Only 3-4 bosses who are actually really satisfying to play against. Only Pieta required parrying/learning the moveset etc.

TLDR: Souls simulator with artificial grind type 'difficulty' but a very real AAA-souls price tag.

You have god like level designers, artists and writers, just fire combat/balance ones and maybe something original next time with early access? But looking at your shares maybe there is no next time... I would really hope so tho.

P.S: If you want to re-enable frame generation, type -DLSSFG in launch options (was disabled by default cuz it was a main reason for crashes according to crash reports)

Thanks for bringing it to steam.

But why, why rush and release a new _trash_ game mode, a new _trash_ map, a new character who is 30% copy paste of Pharah (even the same ult animation if I'm not mistaken) and who's not really viable in 5v5 (unless it's King's Row) and PvE on top of that? Need more money so desperately, huh?
How long did it take you guys to fix Kiriko tp bug? A season? Maybe two?
Loser/winner qs, that you so desperately deny existence of, are still a huge pain btw.

I do not like the direction game's going and can't in good faith recommend this product to new players.
DO NOT support greedy corpas by spending money on this.

UPD 10/10/23: Sombra rework is bs, Idk what they were cooking this whole time, battlepass is meh, Cree can roll and negate Tracer pulse now, what? Mei immediate slow without build up??? Torb NERF? Illari didn't need a healing nerf, she needs a dmg nerf... Also WHY add more maps with chokes, did you learn ANYTHING from old 2cp maps? I just don't get it...

UPD 14/02/24: Apparently to update the game you need to almost fully redownload & patch it & install it again (???), wow, a whole hour+ well spent. It's legit faster to uninstall and never come back.

UPD Juno: idk if it's intentional or no, but the update removed character stats in career profile. If it is, Blizz trying to save money of storage space while still charging insane money for skins. Expected move at this point?
BUT Juno is fun, new game mode is not bad and reworked return of Yamaoka and Anubis is thumbs up.

UPD after Juno: they fixed stats in career profile, probably just a bug. THANKS.

- Addicting.
- Competitive.
- Hard.
- Hella fun, even when you sweating.
- God-like souls-likeish combat.
- Grindy af.
- New events every week.
- Regular updates, including very thoughtful balancing.
- Haven't encountered any bugs.
- Different playstyles/comps/strats for solos, duos and trios.
- Bunch of characters with different abilities/ults that you can customize(!).
- A lot of weapons with different move sets/combos.
- You can make your character look like Shrek.
- Pre-game lobbies are something else. You have to see for yourself. xD
- It did not ask me to disable any security features.
- No pay2win.
- I haven't encountered a single cheater.
- They actually listen to player feedback! I wrote multiple detailed paragraphs about different stuff I'd like to see and they implemented some of it. EVEN a new skin for my main I was crying for :D Best devs ever, I can't believe it actually happened.
- Most players play for fun\improvement\their preferred characters and not meta even in high ranks. Ofc there are grinders, but for the most part RANKED IS FUN AND DIVERSE. Show me another game where this happens.

10/10, best multiplayer game I've played so far, just needs more players.

Give it a try.

UPD 19/10/23: Supports DX12 & DLSS 3 now and fan is amazing, couldn't be happier :)
