Early Access Review
I really hope that I can edit reviews later, because I have a lot more to say—but the secret mission in the Lust layer just keeps coming back to me.
While Ultrakill has subverted my expectations in one way or another again and again, this secret hit me like an atomic bomb. This is a very real struggle.

I am starstruck to fathom that this may genuinely be V1's outlook. The earlier optional dialogue seems to indicate that you're at least a machine—and perhaps, being that this is in the Lust layer, this is part of a fantasy of V1's. (i mean, the robot's name is mirage)

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
I want to love V1 so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much—and... I think it's okay if I do.

yeah edit:
just finished act ii.
this is the best game i've ever played.
i'm at a loss for words.

hakita—you might not need anyone to tell you this, but you know what you're doing. i know what you're doing.
i am so happy there's an option not to fight the ferryman. i was afraid to go into layer 5, thinking that everything up to this point might've been some kind of fluke. a delusion to which i've assigned meaning—meaning that leaves me vulnerable.

i've learned to stop looking for meaning in media—just taking bits and pieces from things, here and there. playing it safe. but ultrakill is unique. everything speaks to me. everything.
maybe i just don't play enough video games. maybe my perception is tainted. but the fact still stands—you understand something important that's never been made so appealing to think about.
