Literally the worst game I have ever played. I would rather deep throat a fat log of Vin-Disel's constipated rock solid mucous covered ♥♥♥♥ than play this game, the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ literally released DLC while the game was still in early access which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for the obvious ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason of it being insulting to backers to have the money they put into a project used to fund a cash grab by the developers to attempt to get more money rather than have it pay for the godamn product they were actually funding. In response to the following backlash the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ penny pinching ♥♥♥♥♥ decided to not make the new DLC content free but instead just released the game 5 years ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ early so that they could continue to take the money of the original backers and funnel it directly into making more new DLC content rather than actually devote it to improving the awful base physics engine UI Levelling and Crafting System, Lack of easy multiplayer server hosting or even changing the godamn font which have stayed exactly the same since the start of the game's development. Instead all of the actual changes they made into making ARK playable, patching bugs updating core game mechanics past tech demo levels of depth and usability and making a finished product of a game were deliberately witheld from the players to scam them out of their money with DLC to drip feed them content to tide them over until they finally released the Finished original ARK Survival Evolved as ARK 2, likely as a full price game. and the worst part is that the lowest of the low, barely passable as intelligent life ARK players actually bought into this ♥♥♥♥

This game has been good to me. Although it has had a rather troubled development with major issues with Klang and optimisation in the past it has come far in this time and is currently in a very stable state in singleplayer at least. The Multiplayer in its current state is generally very stable and runs well in survival and small scale scenarios so it should be pretty good for anyone who is just picking up the game to just have a fun time with friends. Although the physics system and the building are a hell of an experience the longevity of your time playing it will be somewhat limited by your ambition as to what you want to build because the game does not pose too many inherent challenges for players to overcome. Although the game is stable for this type of multiplayer, the game does begin to suffer heavily when there are battles fought, either with mods, many different ships or with very large ships. In my experience even some small scale battles may devolve into becoming borderline unplayable.

The physics engine, destruction and building are what really make this game shine and are truly leagues better than anything else on the market. The building is easy to learn and to start putting ships together with although the movement can take a small amount of time to get used to and may be slightly disorienting for new players but the building has few limits on what is possible and for multiplayer battles there is a very high skill cap in the engineering of the ships. The physics engine is still to this day quite astonishing and interactions between grids connected by rotors and pistons can be very fun to work with although still rather klangy at times. The destructive potential when it comes to the physics engine is also incredibly fun to experiment with and refine your weaponry on your ships in an effort to make it just slightly more effective and is only really possible because of the deformation physics in the game.

In short, I would recommend this game strongly to anyone who has an interest in sandbox games in general or anyone who is interested in sci-fi ship design as well as people who like to set themselves engineering challenges to spend time overcoming as these are the people who would get the most fun out of the game for the money spent. That being said, I would recommend this game to anyone as it is a really fun way to mess around with friends and building stupid contraptions that are way too convoluted and barley work is one of the core tenets of the experience of Space Engineers.
