Developers abandoned this game and the modding community in favor of chasing clout and trends with their little live service battle royale "Contractors Showdown"

SDK (Mod creation tool) is badly outdated, broken, and the developers know it, and have made a choice to leave it that way in favor of Showdown

Developers claim Showdown beta testing feedback will be retroactively applied to Contractors, even though many Contractors players have no interest in showdown, and a lot of us can outright not access the beta since it's Quest-Only, which means we have no say in the things that will be added to this game that we purchased and play

These developers have left their game broken and struggling, with plenty of known bugs and a modding community begging for fixes every day in favor of chasing what's trendy and popular. If you're a PCVR player, or you like mods, or just don't want this game to die in favor of a Live Service Battle Royale, I recommend you speak up now like I am doing with this review, and boycott Showdown's launch

I only own this for the star wars mod and Gates of Hell. I wish I could un-buy this.

Crap like this has no place in the gaming industry

If the game was stellar MAYBE i could overlook it, but it sucks as well, so why did the devs think this was okay?

I have been infected by the zomboid plague and now have a severe addiction. My only criticism is that i can't find enough friends to cover every timezone i wanna play this game in. I've stopped working, studying and doing my other hobbies, there's only zomboid now.

Also please fix car towing in multiplayer or i'm going to go bananas

EDIT: I'm now also modding this game and it's got me into watching the walking dead. I play pretty much daily. I haven't seen my family in months. I've forgotten all spoken language except "HEY YOU!" and "OVER HERE!". Please help me

Most other VR games feel like a "proof of concept" or are shallow, or are short, or are extremely buggy or are just outright bad

This is extremely fun, the combat and gameplay is satisfying, feels natural and just doesn't get old, the mod support is something I massively respect, and the updates and direction the game is taking are extremely promising while already offering heaps of fun.

I am happy to be able to support this developer by having bought the game and I look forward to playing it long term and seeing it evolve and grow

The only reason I don't play it even more is that my hands swell up from the vr controllers and I end up having to stop and put ice on them so my fingers won't get paralyzed. But hopefully when I replace my reverb controllers with valve index ones that will be fixed. And mind you, it's not a game issue, just my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ body and grabbing a thing tightly for way too long

Anyone who has VR, likes fantasy and appreciates good old honest indie developers, with passion and integrity, should get this game, and if they don't, they're making a massive mistake.

What can I say that hasn't been said before? The best fallout

Good game. Bad Fallout.

Why do I give it a negative review then? It's a good game! Well here's why my dear hypothetical reader. A game franchise should appeal to its longtime fans, and this entry casualized fallout. We don't want fallout being casualized. So don't. It's also a downgrade from the previous ones, so bad. BAD. Bethesda BAD. Bethesda give Fallout 5 to Obsidian and just quit it. you're screwing up. You haven't done anything outstanding since 2010

Anyway.

As a game, it's great! Nice graphics, neat gunplay, super, SUPER GOOD atmosphere, acceptable weapon variety as well as enemy variety. Lots of content, and the reason why it's aq GREAT game and not just "ah, it's oke" = MODS.

Fallout 4 is best enjoyed with a good bunch of mods.

Now, why is it worse than previous games? Lots less choice in dialogues, story, perks, skills, etc etc etc. Also the story. Also the story itself ranges from forgettable to plainly annoying, lot less RPing potential compared to previous games due to voiced character and set backstory... It breaks from the roots of fallout in a bad way

Starting with the good, it's a great platform to set up intresting multiplayer games, coop or pvp, Zeus is amazing, and of course, mods!

Now with the bad. The DLCs. Some are good, some are not worth the price, some are just awful, but in general they're way too expensive, a massive ivestment to get them all, and if you dont own them and somebody, out of your control, sets up a game with them, you'll suffer game breaking popups all over your screen.

Physics are janky af, vehicles, and even movement sometimes behave like its gmod, or even worse than gmod sometimes. Destruction looks quite bad.

Sound design and gunplay sound underwhelming. Not outright bad, but just not as good as other games like squad.

Now all those are possible to overlook often, but the thing that fully kills it is: The community. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the community. Now if you just have a group of friends and play with them, you'll be fine, but most "clans" "groups" "squads" whatever you join are... UGH. The WORST

Not only you'll get bullied if you aren't good at the game, they'll also actually add GRIND to it. like they'll often make you get promotions and ♥♥♥♥ in their stupid group before you can actually get access to all the game's features and play different roles. It's packed full of edgy violent military wannabe LARPers that are just the most annoying kind of cringe in the universe. Also these """clans""" have this braindead annoying retarded kind of tribal mentality where they'll constantly get into drama with one another and just in general it seems like half the players of this game need to see a psychologist. I'm sure there are exceptions, but that's my experience.

Now, apart from that, the modding community is just THE WORSE. Instead of working together towards a common goal you'll get 10 mods trying to do the same thing all working independently and fighting each other, and this going extremely slow and just... So stupid. Often this competition is linked to the same kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ "clan" mentality they've got since sometimes mods will be attached to a specific clan, officially or unofficially. Hell! Some clans just play with private mods they make and don't release! Just overall, AWFUL community.

Maybe if i'd been more lucky with who i got to play with my review of this game would be positive but as it stands, I cannot say, ultimately, I had much fun with it, or that I see myself coming back to it anytime soon
