The Finals is one of if not the best Free to play FPS on the market right now. With such a unique gameplay loop of fast-paced split-second decisions that can decide if you continue through tournaments or fall low with the other contestants. With one of the best monetizations of any f2P game with free in-game events happening monthly for free cosmetics, The new sponsorship system of choosing a side and getting multiple legendary skins, and the battle pass giving back $18 worth of coins on a $10 coin purchase which is the most gain back I have ever seen to in any F2P game I am glad to support this game. The developers listen a lot and make changes for the community, they take skin suggestions and add them to the game. If you are a fan of FPS's at all I highly suggest you install this and give it a shot.

After finally returning to this series in the summer of 2021 I finally have my full review of this game.
THE GOOD
-GAMEPLAY: good mix of corpse party 1 and book of shadows. Combining the VS style of book of shadows while including the free movement of the first game. Sprinting is an amazing addition as I'll get into it later about the backtracking this game will make you do. Talismans are a great item to have and can completely be avoided if people think the game is too easy, I highly suggest using them as it's a great thing to add to your arsenal of limited items.
-MUSIC: Most of the best tracks return from the first game while adding in some new songs. Music placement is a small issue as almost dubstep plays while someone dies. But a great soundtrack all around
-STORY: Using the only cannon chapter from Book of Shadows and combining it with the first Corpse party was a smart idea. The story is interesting, combining some new ideas that have never been touched in the series while keeping us on our toes with all the new characters.
The Bad
-GLITCHES: First, before hitting chapter 9 I played on 144hz 144 fps. The number of graphical hiccups and glitches was noticeable but bearable. As I hit chapter 9 and looked at my guide I got told to swap it to 60 FPS because there was a bug where you couldn't pass an event because of being above 60 FPS. Weird but an easy fix. Then digging further there's one more softlock that can happen with above 60 FPS. I understand it's a port of a Vita game but that should have been looked over. Another thing in the final chapter, going into a hallway can cause an event to trigger that isn't supposed to happen, glitching the game to skip a scene and can't continue. It's a small thing but I still think they could have easily avoided the 60FPS thing.
-CONFUSION: I tried to play this game with no guide, and that lasted 2 chapters. It gets so confusing about where to go, and what to do, and you can easily get lost if not careful. I highly suggest using the one English guide on steam if you wanna get the true ending and 100%. It's what I use as my guide.

Overall I suggest this game, it finishes the story well and leaves room for Dead Patient to pick up the series. Hopefully Dead Patient will finish being localized eventually. But as of now blood drive finishes the series strong and leaves the player with a semi-confusing but good ending.

I would say the first game and Blood Drive are neck and neck which is my favorite. Both are great times and I highly suggest skipping BOS unless you really wanna pay the 20 for one cannon chapter. Just watch it online after finishing 1 and come to Blood Drive.

Are we there yet?

All jokes aside I had a blast playing this game. I do warn anyone who rocks an HDD and SSD setup like me to throw this game on an SSD. At first, I had it on my HDD and the game ran really bad. On low settings around 45-50 FPS. Once I transferred it to my SSD I could run it at ultra settings 60-70 FPS.

As a big fan of the first game, I did not want a retold story with different ways the characters die. I 100% Corpse party (2021) on ps4 and came straight to this game. After getting the true ending to the first chapter (at a slower rate than 2021 since getting to rooms take 7 years since it isn't fast travel just slow walking when you click on a further icon) I concluded that NOTHING CHANGED. Yeah everyone remembers the events of the first game but legit the only change between first game and this one is how a character dies, NOTHING ELSE FOR THE MOST PART. I can not suggest this since it's only reason it exist is "what if this happened? What if they died this way?". Maybe I'm wrong since I didn't play more than chapter one but it is extremely hard to since I have seen what happens just in a better format than book of shadows. Another thing I heavily dislike is nearly every single character image is reused from 2021, I get it game design is hard but guys, there was a 3 year gap between OG and book of shadows. Y'all couldn't redraw a few things? Its cool that they did add new content later on, but why do I have to play a nearly one to one retelling of the first game?

While being the shortest in the mainline games, I believe this is the best out of all 4 games. It had a amazing story with some fun new gameplay with the action sections playing like the RE remakes IMO. I highly suggest every game in this series. Not only to finally play this but as a whole this is one of my favorite game series ever. If you would like to know my list best to worst it goes
