I have never played the first Punch Club, and I also haven't played any of their other games. With this game being my first impression of them- They ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nailed it. The pixel art is amazing, the humor is spot-on, and yo ucan see how they really paid attention to detail.

It's an amazing futuristic world with funny, interesting, and humorous characters. They have a skill tree where you can choose to go down any kind of fight path you want. Do you want to duck, dip and dodge and barely get hit? There's a build for that. Do you want to drain the opponent's energy, so they're left utterly defenseless against your constant knockdowns? There's a build for that. Do you want to just stand there, get hit, and gain energy while getting hit, ignore damage that's below a threshold, all while reducing their chances of dodging/blocking with certain attacks? There's a build for that! It made me feel I could do whatever I wanted to have the most fun.

A con I will point out though is near the end of the story, if you don't just go up the tree of fighters immediately, it's kind of a grind. needing to try and max out stats can take a while and is quite tedious. There are also some spelling errors, but that didn't ruin my enjoyment of the game.

I hope more people give this game a try!

Beautiful landscapes, very likable characters that are well voiced-acted, an impressive and massive world to explore, what more could you want!
10/10, if a higher score was possible, this game is already there.
