** A letter of love for both DOOM and the true classic Roguelike genre **

The game might sound like something unbelievable : taking a universe like DOOM, nervous, aggressive, fast-paced, and applying to it a turn-based gameplay implying strategy to avoid an unforgiving permadeath.

These devs did it, and they did it well :
Jupiter Hell offers the action and the bloody massacre someone would expect from a game like doom as its gameplay, visuals and also musics are immersive enough to get in action and take quick decisions.

At first, you would obviously die, like a lot. Since like any traditional rogue-like, Jupiter Hell is not an easy game.
Though unlike most of roguelike, the choice of difficulty can offer you the choice to just have fun running around and shooting as in lowest difficulty, the game would allow you to make mistakes in your decisions and choices.

The game also offers three classes which are well balanced with their own resource to manage, activable powers and passive abilities.

- Marine, focused on direct attack
- Scout, focused on backstab and escape
- Technician, focused on bulky strats

Also, since we're playing a rpg, you'll have a system of leveling to unlock new traits to spice up the gameplay with new passive or activable abilities, combined with an important point of the gameplay : the gear.

Maybe it's the only moment of the game in which the pacing might slow down but for the good sake as it would often occur after the gunfight when the area is cleared and all the time required to explore, think and relax is available, to be ready until the next level.

And when the classic gameplay might feel too much, you can still enjoy the game with other original way of playing with the challenges or trials the game offers.

Cherry on the top : if despite all the points mentionned, you are still not doubtful about the game or its content, you can still embrace the community which is active, fair, welcoming in addition to the dev team whose always listening at their players and modders.

AND YES, I said modders : the game also provides a workshop with mods so you could add your own content in the game both in its gameplay and visual.

In conclusion, Jupiter Hell is pleasant experience, a game which worth its price and deserves to be known and tried.
If you love DOOM and love Classic Rogue-like games, this is for me a must play for the hommage it represents and the content it offers.
And if you're a novice in rogue-like, this game is fair enough for a good introduction to the genre.
