See the cool thing is Lincoln wasn't a static character, he became more accepting over time (especially due to African-American war efforts). At first he kind of threw in emancipation because of his promises to radical Republicans and because they were so far into the war that the border states would just go with it, but by war's end he saw the black population as integral and was totally ready to rebuild the south as the pinnacle of agricultural technology, including blacks at A&M colleges and running their own businesses and such.
But then John Wilkes Booth happened and Reconstruction was a train wreck and there was almost a century gap between the second and third black congressman so eh, we can't really say how it would have been. Say what you will of him now, though, but he was pretty damn appreciated at the end of his life as "The Emancipator".
(sorry I take these kinds of things as opportunities for history class review)
