Great game on its own but what really brings it all together is being able to screw around in the editor. The editor is so easy to use and you can do basically whatever you want. I'd say like 90% of my hours in this series is in the editor and its wrth the price by itself.

Now this game is kinda for younger ages I will admit that and for its small amount of content and little amounts of everything its quite demanding of youre system through my experiences. But this game is just for stupid fun and getting pleasured when a small child screams at you for hacking. I love making small sniper hideouts in buildings and sniping people who are unaware and spawn killing is a major issue too but I guarentee if you kill one of them back it will be hilarious seeing chat with little children cursing not knowing what they are saying and saying hacks because they think they are invincible just dont respond its hilarious they keep blabbing on in there spawn lifting pressure off youre base and making you happy as I said just for fun.

I don't take free to play seriously so heres what you need to know. Its your par buy this and that for making up for not having an entry fee and it might speed up your progression and give you an edge in PVP. Other than that just try it for yourself its a shell of its former glory but with more players like yourself it may return to its past glory.

Space engineers is a fantastic game that I've been following the development of since 2014 and has the honor of being my first true PC game I ever owned. The game is a creative space survival game that uses technology that we will possibly have within the next 50-100 years. You can build anything from a speedy car on earth to a small drone to even a large capital ship in either the games survival or creative mode. To dumb it own quite a bit this game took the idea of the popular sandbox "Build-it games" like minecraft and puts it in a entirely realistic universe setting.

The games full release back in febuary delivered a finished product from a long awaited early access title. The game gave us a Thursday update throughout the most of its development making sure we knew the game was still alive and giving us something to look forward to every week. The love and passion the developers poured into this project and its community can not be overstated. Even though the game feels finished and the devs have poured their heart and soul into this game theres still a few areas that are missing content that I feel the game desperately needs to further flesh it out. The game currently only has two different weapon types in the form of machine guns and rockets in either a static version that you aim yourself or turrets. Although this fits the the whole "future technology" idea it doesn't give much variation to combat. I'd say its fine to jump into Railgun territory or even prototype lazer weapons. The game also has a lack of water problem making lakes one Earth just giant frozen wastelands which just doesn't make sense at all. This just doesn't break only immersion but also the beauty of the game as water has a realistic and welcoming look. The last thing its missing (what i've been hoping for since the start) is NPC's. Both in humans and wildlife. This would bring MUCH needed life to the universe as it feels lonely and dead at the moment. Not to mention the uncrewed cargo ships. The wolves and spiders were a good first step but seriosuly need to be expanded upon.

The multiplayer experience is alright if you play in a group or a on your own personally tweaked server but the official servers are a waste of time. All the official servers have low mining, inventory, grinding, welding speeds and sizes. This makes it so no one even bothers to build anything to do battle or raid which leaves the server feeling dead. It just takes too long to get anything done that the idea of losing even a small ship in an engagement with the enemy seems pointless. As a example I had a base on Earth that I built with two faction members with a small ship and a rover but once I told them I was going on vacation they killed me and stole my ship and materials. Since this experience I honestly down't want to invest into playing on these servers anymore. This is a large oversight as battle and raiding is what keeps other multiplayer survival games alive such as Rust, Minecraft, and Ark among others alive and fosters a strong and vibrant community. It would be nice if they offered servers with higher speeds and inventory sliders or even a recources needed scaler for large ships.

The most recent controversy with this game is that of DLC. I'm split on it myself as the Decorative Blocks Pack was nice for a reasonable price but the Style Pack just doesn't seem worth it at double the price with less content. I'm fine with DLC as these offer a fair bit for the price compared to other companys that sell ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for $30 on top of the $60 price tag. I just want it to seem "standardized" as each DLC offers the same amount of content for the same price.

Overrall Space Engineers is a great game with minimal flaws that is definetly worth a purchase with plenty of content and planned content.
