Underwhelming.

If you had asked me a few years ago, what was the best game or series, I would have definitely said Total War. I own and played both Romes, both Shoguns, Medieval and perhaps some others - including with the expansion packs.

Three Kingdoms just did not grab me at all. Felt like I was pressing 'next' too many times. The battles took a long time to load and whereas in the past TW games I enjoyed the camera perspective - this just did not seem right. Either they pieces were too small or too close or something but I did not enjoy them like have in the past. Characters were introduced through text that I did not know or see - and without being ... (hmm I dont know) I found it hard to remember who they were if I didnt have anything directly to do with them.

I was really looking forward to this game and waited until it was cheaper and a few bugs were sorted out. I think this will be the last TW I buy. TW had in-game problems in the past but there was enough for me play hundreds of hours in each of them. Thanks for the good times TW, good luck in the future.

Uninstalled.

With vast maps there is something for everyone that wants a FPS. You can be part of a horde that fights and/or assists up close or act alone away from the masses. A bit of occasional cheating but it is not prominent enough to spoil the fun. I have come and gone from this game over many years - glad to be back on board.

It is a bit yeah/nah. I gave it a pretty good go. It is a bit like a complicated board game where you need to read the manual carefully and then keep referring to it. I had to regularly seek help online to move on. I gave it a break for about a month (just as I was reaching an advanced stage) but when I came back to it - I felt I needed to start researching how to play it again - I just couldn't be bothered. I bought it on special and I do NOT consider it a waste of money. I like strategy games, I like Sci-fi concepts, but I cannot relax and play this for fun.

Much improved AI battles from the previous Total War franchise. Still great history references. If you liked the previous TW u will this/ I find I get a lot of game play out of these TW games and therefore it is good value.
