Early Access Review
V Rising found the perfect balance of building, combat, some lore and exploration. I would highly recommend it to RPG and vampire fans. It could also be the next big survival game. Whether you want to play alone, with, or against other players, this has you covered. Once you get the hang of the combat you’ll begin to feel more and more powerful, crafting a towering castle that will terrify any delivery driver to their very core. I’m confident this will do well, and Early Access will continue to add new touches, tweaks and content between now and the eventual full release.

Pros:
Upscaled visuals with extra texture and enhanced lighting.
An upgraded combat system that isn't as sluggish as the first game and is close to Automata's as possible.
Great story that still hits hard.
Masterful arranged soundtrack that enhances the original.

Cons:
No option to use original OST.
New combat system makes game a tad bit easier.

I am about 4 hours into this and I absolutely love it. It's a fantastic remake and while, yes the graphics are not on par with lets say Final Fantasy VII Remake or the Resident Evil remakes, it is a night and day difference. Ontop of that, the combat is greatly reworked and much more fast and fluid and unlike the first game which felt like a chore, combat in this is an absolute blast. The pacing is still the same and that may be hit or miss, I personally liked the slow burn the story had but some may dislike that it's not as fast paced as Automata was.

The only real negative I could see is there is no option to play the original OST but the arranged OST is fantastic and enhances the experience. The other thing I noticed is that with the upgraded combat system the game is a tad bit easier but there's always hard mode if that's bothersome. If you loved the first Nier, you'll love this. If you haven't played Nier before and liked Automata, play this version. It is the definitive version.

So far, it is nothing but a masterpiece so I gladly give it a 10/10. I may update the review once I finish it.

A medieval fantasy world that actually looks medieval, a story with insane twists at the end, decisions and side quests that actually affect things down the road, and perhaps most importantly... a combat system that actually justifies the term "action RPG" and makes battle so much more enjoyable than in most other ARPGs. Insane mobility as well, with some classes having access to dashes, double jumps, levitation, and so on, and a very climbable world.

This game does have its flaws, and I don't just mean that it's a late console port that doesn't try to hide what era it is from. On the other hand, this PC port includes the original game, the expansion, and all the DLC that ever came out on consoles with exception of two armor sets from the Berserk manga/anime that they don't have a license for anymore, and all that at a very friendly price point.

Dark Souls 3 is another high quality Souls game with some minor flaws.

The game is most impressive technically - the controls are very smooth and responsive - certainly the best out of the 3 Dark Souls games, and the graphics are a visible upgrade from DS2. The world looks gorgeous, expansive, and detailed, while still maintaining that dark, desolate Souls feeling.

The gameplay is very fast-paced compared to DS/DS2, with attacks landing faster and monsters overwhelming you very quickly. Whether you'll like this or not depends on personal preference, but I enjoy the slower combat of DS/DS2.

I'm also not a big fan of the travel system which is pretty much the same as Dark Souls 2, and makes the world feel more disconnected.

Dark Souls is still the best in the series, but that's simply because any Souls game is such a unique experience that you can never reproduce it after playing it once.

Overall though, DS3 successfully brings back the familiar core of the Souls gameplay and setting, while adding enough new things to keep it fresh
