The negative reviews about balance are OUTDATED!
The game has good balance now and you can even do some pretty mighty builds!
I definetly suggest you give the updated game a try and perhaps remove some negative reviews if you had a negative experience in the past xD
However if you still want a brutal experience the hardest difficulty mode is still insane so it's an option if you want to feel the pain! :D

Got the game during the 80% sale and had a Blast!
Played through the entire game in 6.2 hours.
It was really fun to try out the differant Buggos and figure out some fun synergies!
The campaign has great pacing and progression, it's fun all the way through even if in the first couple missions a 2x speed button would've been useful, but lategame there is so much stuff going on you don't need any speed up mechanics xD

Summed up gameplay:
Build a quick economy, send your Buggos to secure the surrounding area, build more economy buildings, swarm everyone with endless Buggos!
It's great!

It took me all the way until the reviews to figure out the story was entirely fictional.
I was quite confused about some things, like "if Cody doesn't want you to share his games, why did you gather them up and make money out of them on Steam"
And "why is Cody not on the credits screen??"
It was a bit confusing until I got the reinsurance from the reviews.
I am not really sure in which way the story helps people start making games.
It just shows a weird disfuntional friendship between a game dev that scraps all his projects and some distant pen pal that thinks he's depressed.

Thanks to the sale, I got my hands on this :)
I watched a video on this game years back and finally got a good opportunity to try it out
I love it a lot! Really well made.
It was tough to learn since I don't play factory games.
If you're new to the genre this would be a good game to start with since it seems simple enough to brute force learn factory building.

I got ambushed really hard by the green faction early on and had to rush my kinetic weapons xD
Having to figure out the entire ammo system while being under attack with no defenses was surprisingly fun and thrilling!

The game is balanced well.
When you're still struggling with your economy enemies usually aren't that big of a deal,
because they seem to only get aggressive once you start shooting down multiple of their ships.

Generally I'd say for people that aren't used to similar games this is an exciting experience to try out.
I don't know how it is for Factorio veterans though.

Only one mission and I already want the full game!

Pilestedt as CCO is singlehandedly saving the entire game.
His new patch(es) easily turn it around to a positive review.

This game is far more balanced and fun than Helldivers 2.
There are no offscreen instakill things that surprise you.
You can actually use more than 90% of the weapons instead of 90% being useless like in Helldivers 2.
When you die or loose it feels perfectly fair and you as a player get respected even if you still get the same pressure and intensity of gameplay.
Literally the only downside of this game over Helldivers 2, is that it has less advanced graphics and a ton of DLCs that you kinda need, especially the terrain boots DLC.

Jeff van Dyck did an excellent job with the Soundtrack! This has to be my favorite selection <3

One of the few games from my childhood that completely hold up on a 2nd playthrough years later.
The nostalgia wasn't lying, this game is a fun experience for anyone that loves creeper world or just likes the gameplay loop of shoot mean fluid + tech up!

It looks AWESOME!
Definetly worth the tiny price tag if you like to be dripped out sheeeeeesh
Also supports EWG, the most lovely devs that deserve all the extra income :)
