Foxhole is a top-down MMO wargame in a persistent online war.

This is a 10/10 game and it only gets better with time. It is a persistent war between two factions on a huge map where you, the player, can do anything you choose (basically making it an MMO). Every aspect of the war is controlled by the players, be it harvesting resources, researching technologies (weapons, vehicles, etc), fighting on the front-line, or just driving a truck between locations delivering supplies. The top-down view takes time to get used to, but once you are it is refreshing since most shooters are first-person. There are loads of mechanics, vehicles, weapons, explosives, and buildable structures that you'll stay entertained and the replay value is incredible. The game has combined arms so anti-tank guns, artillery, tanks, armored cars, half tracks, and more. Most vehicles even have variants, for example one armored car has a machine gun, AT rifle, and rpg variant. Most shooters are round-based and once a round is over, you start another. In Foxhole however, every battle matters in the war. Taking a town used for the other factions logistics can disrupt the enemy's supply lines and help win the war. Wars can take a long time (longest I've seen is 37 days) and there is a break in between wars that takes a couple days. The devs change up the starting territories and building locations every war to keep it varied. The devs are passionate about the game and pump out updates which almost always have new content/mechanics/and fixes that make the game easier. The next update that was revealed a couple days ago is adding grenade launchers, rifle grenades, armored uniforms, smoke grenades, and a massive amount of bug fixes and balance changes. Learning how things work can take a while, but many of the higher ranking players help people along. I recommend this game to anyone who finds what I've previously said interesting or if you enjoy wargames, persistent battles, and large team-based combat.
