What Is Rust?
Rust is a harsh survival PvP game with a massive learning curve so when you buy the game do not expect that all those hours in Counter Strike to do all the work for you. If you think you're going to destroy everybody, you are wrong because you simply won't. This is a very hard game for beginners, so do not expect help from strangers. Just a warning for everyone who thinks this a typical survival game, the matter of fact is it is not. Rust is more of a PvP based game with a certain feel of survival in it. (This survival part is subject to change!)

Some Pros:
1-What Makes Rust So Special
The game can really give you an adrenaline rush if you are one of those adrenaline junkies out there, the game feels this way because when you die you lose all that juicy loot you had on your inventory at that time, so it can turn fight much more intense because of the high-risk high-reward system that is the foundation of the game.

2-How the Game Feels
The game feels very rewarding when you kill other players since every fight is a "everything on the line situation" and if you win, it is an amazing sensation of accomplishment. But as easily as you can steal everything from someone you are bestowed with the same danger as everyone else which means that upon your death you lose the time you spent getting all that will be lost on your death.

3-The Building System
The game gives the player lots of freedom when it comes to base building, it is very intuitive to start building and you have lots of options, so it's very easy to be creative. The only thing that restrains you is that fact that you need to pay a sort of "rent" (buiding upkeep cost) according to the size of your base.

4-The Raiding System
In the game there is this little thing called raiding and as the name implies, raiding is blowing someone's house and stealing all their precious loot. It sounds unbalanced at first, but you need to consider that if you can lose everything you accumulated in 10 hours, they also can, so it is basically a race to see who can get explosive devices first to blow up their neighbours.

Some Cons:

1-Rust Difficulty
As I said the game is extremely harsh for new players and the community does not help by killing everybody on sight so do not expect many player interactions or anybody's help so be prepared for the worst. Not everyone is like this, but each time you meet somoene new you're playing Russian Roullete with your life.

2-What to Do and What Not to Do as A Beginner
If you want to go to populated servers as a beginner that is the worst decision you can make because the people there are very experienced players that do not care about teaching new players the basics. If you're a beginner, I truly think you should go to a server max 100 people otherwise you are going to spawn and die repeatedly.

3-Be Prepared to Suffer in Solo or Find a Group
It’s really hard to play solo even though there are servers just for people that play solo, there are not a lot of people that play there, and as I said if you go to a very populated server with 200+ people most of them are in groups, so it makes it very hard to start there because you’re going to be stomped by a 5 men group with the best gear in the whole game, so I recommend that you find some friends to play with and make the game a lot more enjoyable.

4-The Farming Aspect
Sometimes the game can feel like a farming simulator because farming is a core part of the game. It is from farming that you get most of your raw materials so if you expect that in 15 mins you can farm a decent house you're wrong, because you need to put hours and hours of farming just to get a proper size base. Although this issue can be almost fully bypassed by playing in groups or in "Times X" servers which speed up the beggining/primitive fase of the game.

Final Thoughts:
Rust is a very rewarding hardcore game just for the most hardcore player of them all, if you want to play you should get a group otherwise you will be stomped by larger groups and if you think Rust can be a game just to play a couple hours a week you're very wrong.
Rust Is a Full Time Job.
