Pre-review note: I bought the game on gog while steam was down, and then transfered my save over to steam, when I was able to buy it on steam.


This game was well worth the wait, just as good as the original Hollow Knight.

This game has improved a lot on the movement from Hollow knight, way less clunky. Everything feels very responsive, and makes multi enemy fights actually fun to play.

The new 45 down angle strike, was a bit weird to get used to at first, but once I had it down it wasn't much harder to pogo with it than in Hollow knight.

In way I kind of like the 45 better, you can combo off of the 45 down strike really nicely with the new movement system.

Once you get good at the movement, and the down 45 strike you can pull off so many awesome combos.

Silk Song also doesn't turn. Every single boss fight into a bullet hell. It was for radiance, being the final boss in hollow knight, but not every single boss needs some kind of bullet to constantly be throwing at you.

The silk song world is so beautiful to look at, and has an amazing art design,l. Different from Hollow knight, but at the same time has it's moments where you can see this as a neighboring kingdom to Hollownest.

Now the game isn't entirely perfect, and I do have a few issues with the game.

I like hollow knights bosses, I do think though that for as far as I have made it, ( a little past fourth chorus) there a few to many bosses/ mini bosses in silk song, I want to explore the game world, not every 10min getting locked in some random boss/mini boss room I accidentally wandered into.

Then some of the bosses last for way to long, specifically at the moment for me: Fourth chorus.

Fourth chorus has no reason to have 4 phases. I was ready for the boss fight to end by the time the 3rd phase started.

Fourth chorus is fun, but only being able to damage it by hitting it's head, just made the fight last forever. Well at least made it feel like it was going on forever.


The music from Hollow knight is on of the best OSTs I have ever heard. And listen to it all the time, even use songs in my DnD games, for the atmosphere the music has.

Unfortunately I can't say silk song has the same atmosphere. The music is good, just none of it really wows, or brings out any feelings, such as tracks like City of Tears, Sealed vessel, soul sanctum.

This last thing isn't really an issue at the moment per say, but something I am keeping my eye on.

The new crafting/tools system is neat, as long as it is just something to aid you on your journey, and make things easier for you if you want them.

If they become necessary like the nail upgrades from hollow knight, it's just going to make the grindy for no reason what so ever.

The nail upgrades for the first game are so annoying especially with how they are linked to getting the goodish ending for the game.


All the same I still highly recommend giving Hollow Knight: Silk Song a try.

Meh. It's okay. It's fun for a short a bit but gets boring pretty quickly. It would be a lot better if it had in game coms, to actually be able to quickly and effectively communicate with your squad mate.

The no coms works for WoT, and WoW because those games aren't super focused on team work. It becomes complete hindrance for this game.

TLDR: The game runs terribly and looks like garbage, I can count the pixels. Wait for updates, and for the game to go on sale to 30 or 40 bucks. I am refunding the game for now until they make drastic changes to the game.

I have played the original stalker games. While not a mega fan of them as some people are, I do enjoy them and think that they are great games.

This game however does not bring joy, can barely maintain 60fps at 1080p with out frame gen, and it gets even worse at 1440.

Then there is actual picture quality, which is horrible, I can count the pixels that make up the leaves of a tree, it gets so bad at times that it actually makes me sick.

As it is I can not recommend this game, and especially not this price point. Wait for updates, and wait for the game to go on sale for 30 - 40 bucks then it would be kind of worth it.

I am refunding this game until they get everything fixed.

This game is a hot piece of garbage the game looks like arma 3, the game play is just bland, the ai is dumb as ♥♥♥♥, and no one is online playing the game.

No mics system so you can't talk to the few people you may publicly match with. Lastly co-op just does not work for an extraction shooter.

Sony has backed off after having their hand ripped out of the cookie jar.

So this goes back to a recommended for now.

Warning though Sony you try to do something like this again, and next time it becomes jugular not just your hand.

I hate having to make this update but Sony/AH has announced that you will be required to have a psn to play the game.

I have been playing off and on for a few months now without a psn account and don't plan on making one.

On top of all of this there are several countries where psn is banned, but sony soled the game there anyways on steam. Now those player will never be able to play the game again because of Sony's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ maneuver


Sony really took one look at everything the BSG has done to it's community and said: " I would like what he is having"

You had a winning hand Sony and you had to go and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ throw it way because of your greed.

All you had to do was remain on the current course and you had money for days, and you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up.

In all seriousness though this is the first game in a long time that have been excited and hyped up for, and haven't been let down by in the long run.

One of the newest games that i will buy and recommend buying at full price.

The game is a fun smash bros. clone but has some serious issues.

The game balance is all over the place some characters are stupidly weak and other are stupidly over powered.

The dual characters are broken (beavers and R&S). The few characters that have range attacks can just spam you from the other side of the map and keep you from doing anything.

Then you can just spam moves, since there is no delay between attacks and an enemies counter attack will just randomly power through what ever move you are making. Then shield is just random if it actually blocks anything or not.

The multiplayer servers are ♥♥♥♥. You may or may not load into the game, and then even if you do load you will have a terrible time with the lag even on gb internet.

Currently in the state this game is in I can not recommend it.

If the game goes on sale for 20 bucks or less then maybe buy it.

Holy fking sh!t this game is good!

Saw the game on release and just ignored it not even thinking twice about it. Then i saw one of the guys i watch start a play through of it not even 5 min in i closed the video so I didn't ruin the game for myself like i did when ddlc came out, immediately bought the game and haven't regretted it.

So much replay ability to this game and as someone who loves to play ttrpgs, it gives so much inspiration for potential stories.

If you are sitting back considering just drop the 18 bucks on it, worth every dollar.

I think the game is okay pretty fun. I have never been a fan of the pokemon could never really enjoy them. I have for the most part enjoyed this game all except for the **** trainer battles that are every 5ft from the last trainer you just ******* battled!

Seriously the trainer battles suck all enjoyment out of this game due to not being able to go anywhere or do anything, that combined with the random wild temtem encounters you will have to stop by the trainer station every time you get to a new area if you don't get reset cause all of your temtem's are dead!

Then there is the terrible ui. The best way to put it is it sucks, get a new quest? Great! Only one issue the game doesn't give you a direction to go in, so you will just wonder around forever adding on new quests and never being able to figure out how to complete the old ones. The game will throw a bunch of names at you that mean absolutely nothing to you and expect you to know what to do.

The map doesn't have the towns marked on it so if you need to get somewhere your just making a guess of where to go.

There are no indicators on your temtem's as to what kind they are or if they have a synergy with another one in your squad/inventory, so unless you are going to spend hours of time researching and grinding your aren't ever going to be able to build synergetic teams. There is no indicator for your temtem's speed so it's impossible to know which will go first, again it comes down to hours of grinding and research to actually figure it all out.

I'm just glad i got this game with my humble choice sub, there is no way I would ever pay 50 bucks for this game, it has way to many design issues to be worth that much.

Team17 buys the game from blackmatter, immediately throws the game out the window.

The game already had issues before Team17 bought the HLL ip and now that they directly develop the game it has gotten so much worse.

Hit reg issues, extreme lag, large fps drops. Then the utter trash that is the british forces update. No lee enfield, can't use the bipod on the bren, no desert camo for your units even though the british mainly play on desert maps.

Don't buy this game, even more so don't support team17. They money grubbing dev/publisher that is willing to pump out cash grabs left and right.

This game was amazing and awesome till tencent and their new ceo for OWI came into the game. Now it's about turn into a micro-transaction hell.
