I know I'm in the minority here, but I am not a fan of this game.

This game's popularity is entirely buoyed off of the social aspect, but, in my opinion, it's very boring. Once you've heard your friends scream from jumpscare once, you've heard it a million times. The core gameplay loop also is very monotonous, just stumbling around random maze on a fetch quest. I think some more variety to the levels would help a lot, and perhaps other tasks for you to do.

The developer should absolutely be applauded for making such a smash hit all by themselves, but it's simply not for me.

It's fun, but a little bare-bones

There doesn't seem much for colonists to really do, they spent most of their time just standing around because I already had all the materials I needed.

However, it really needs more time in the oven, I encountered several quality of life issues. From small things like not being able jump when ordering your colonists to plant something (even though you can in all of the other colonist order menus), to very frustrating things, like items being deleted if you destroy certain objects that have an inventory (The steam generator is the most notable one I found, I lost all my coal because I wanted to move it a block to the right), to big things, like the colonists being unable to grasp the concept of a ladder, or walking straight into a bunch of enemies because they HAVE to pick up that one piece of wood.

I would love to give this a positive review in the future, but as it stands right now, I don't recommend you by the game. Give it a few more months, and hopefully it'll be great.

Bad Rats: the Rats' Revenge and its successor, Bad Rats Show are more than mere games. They are art, in the truest and most pure meaning of the word. On my first (of many!) playthrough of the game, I lost the final level by letting the countdown end, simply because I was to distraught at the knowledge that once I beat it, I would never be able to experience any part of Bad Rats: the Rats' Revenge for the first time ever again. When I finally beat it, I sobbed for hours without end, and once I had finished that, I opened up a new game of Bad Rats: the Rats' Revenge, to go through the absolute majesty of it all over again.

I cannot recommend Bad Rats: the Rats' Revenge enough. It is something for everyone; the casual gamer, the hardcore gamer, the racist, and even the woman.
