I've tried to like the game, and the first several hours you put it really will be fun and the positive reviews makes sense in that context, but really the game is just a bad mobile app game. The point of the game is to push the reply value of it: you progress through the same dungeon repeadedly hoping to assemble particular cards and relics like Dungeon Run in Hearthstone. The probability of you assembling coherent cards that are both good enough to get you to end game and that you want to play, simply because you're here for fun (right?), is so low it removes the fun from the game. Rather, all you can do is make optimal choices with what you have, so the game becomes massively degenerate and repetetive.

Another problem: unlocking cards takes an eternity. The 40ish hours I've put in have yielded such a small portion of the unlocks that it is detering me from trying. Does the dev want players to go through this same dungeon for 200 hours?

To be clear, the positive reviews make sense in that the structure of the game is compelling and it really could be something cool if it were executed better, but really, save yourself the money, the game is just a bad app game with a cute illustrated skin.

Devs have really made a gem here. I don't think enough has been remarked upon the quality of the AI in the game. More than any other thumbstick shooter I have ever played, the AI maintains this amazing balance of irratic and predictable. The game is enormously replayable. Buy it if you like good humor, good mechanics, and a good challenge.
