I was so hyped for this game. This was the first time I've pre ordered a game, and also the last. Played halfway through before it was patched and the stutter was real. Even turning down settings, shadows, v sync, keeping constant frames was impossible (oddly enough keeping it paused for a few hours and coming back made it somewhat playable). The patch fixed the frames and could play ultra 120+ frames with less issues.

However this just let me see the real problems more clearly. The Game. It. Is. so. BORING. The pacing with scares is awful and predictable. The combat loop is bland at best, A/D till they stop and you win. You will find yourself in a vent or climbing a ladder for the majority of the game. The environmental hazards that were supposed to be a selling point in the trailers are way too few and far apart. There is nothing to break up the tediousness in the game and it just feels bad man. Exploring the levels is pretty unsatisfying. Maybe you find an audio recording and some ammo/health/money but it never feels rewarding, because the combat that it all goes towards is so bland.

I wanted to like this game, I really did. But this is not a game, it is a chore and a punishment.

P.S. The story is hot garbage. Save your money, watch a stream and see how long you can stay awake.
