I definetely recommend it - 8/10
I got this game with a mindset that I will embrace new heroes 3... Aaand I kind of did :D

So first, let's go with the flaws:

- The first campaign (Arleon - human like) was pretty dull and boring. I mean the maps were so easy and the writing of dialogues felt like it was given to a child to write the script :/
When two heroes/enemies met and they had a chat before the fight/whatever the conversation would just look like this:
- You're stupid and I am a very royal lady, so you better listen to me!
- No!! You're stupid :(
<they start to fight>
The characters were not very believable. I didn't like it at all.

- you can encounter ocasional bugs (fair because it's early access)

- too small battlefield / some units too fast
I love the fight system but some units should be slower because the battlefield is quite small or the battlefield should be bigger. You can encounter a situation when a basic unit can reach you from the other side which is quite frustrating because you can lose half of your troops just like that.

- abilities tree is not really clear to me. I mean I don't know what can I expect to get next level. It would be nice if devs included some tree which would show what abilities can we get if we choose another abilities

- it lacks skill like dimension door from heroes3. I mean when a computer gets your town and you have to take a 6-day long route to take it back and have to let go of this shiny artifact laying on the ground just 2 days ahead of you... it's a design flaw

- there are still some spell + units combinations that are too OP

And now what i like about this game:

- fighting system

- the second campaign (Rana - lizardmen) was quite a suprise for me after the first one.
It starts weridly (some random dude comes and without explaining anything rescues you from captivity. Cool I guess)
But the characters have more.. character to them and are more believable. Maps are tougher to beat and it is generally more entertaining.

- computer turns are computed quite fast, but could be faster

- mana as a combination of some different "elements"

- unit upgrades actually matter

- hotseat is cool

- simultaneous turns in multiplayer

- it's nice that there is unit growth every day

- SPRITES!!! so much work was put into them. You cannot dislike them :D

- pleasant to eye pixelart (mostly, because some could contain a little bit more pixels)
