As if Don't Starve wasn't already good enough, Don't Starve Together lets you do that but with friends. But wait, there's more! Even though they could have easily just slapped a multiplayer feature onto DS and called it a day, they didn't. See, there's a good reason DST needs to be bought separately from DS because DST has loads of features, characters, and content not present in DS. That's bonkers, every other gaming company I know wouldn't be arsed to do something like this, I think it totally earns it's independent price tag (although you could always wait for a sale).

Personally, I believe that this game is THE go to multiplayer survival game ever made, yes I think it's that good. It has so much charm to it, the characters, the lore, and that hand drawn art style is just eye candy. Unlike other survival games which seem to heavily seem to focus on building rather than actually surviving, DST feels like and actual survival game where the goal is to face the challenges the world throws at you and use everything at your whim to survive as long as possible. And if even that's not enough to satisfy you, then the many bosses you can come together to take down for unique rewards to help you on your journey to (try) tame the land will be sure to keep things exciting and make for long term goals you want to complete down the road.

Although both versions have their pros and cons I personally prefer DST over DS. There are STILL updates coming out for this game (at the time of this review) giving something new to look forward to every time I come back. And I think I will always return to this game, it's just too much fun with friends and it has NEVER left me disappointed for choosing to play this with my mates over something else. There's just something so oddly exciting and fun about working together with people you know (or don't know) to survive to the best of your abilities. You'll die together, fight together, struggle together, eat together and of course starve together but you'll always be having a rip roaring great time together.

Oh but you don't have to be together, you can also play offline in this version too if you want.
