This is a good game but it is hella overpriced (with DLC factored in I mean). Do not buy it until it goes on sale.

Arma 3 is great for people who enjoy roleplay and that's it. If you like competitive shooters, please return to console "realism". While that sentence seemed hostile, it's about as friendly as possible. This is a down to earth, open world, shooter. It is hostile to newbies and attrides about half of the potential players within the first day.

This is a game for people who like airsoft. Go play airsoft once. If you have a bad time, don't buy this.

This game is okay. It's got a large community, and is good for pretty much any kind of gameplay.

Summing up Garry's mod is impossible, it's pretty much an ocean with an equal mix of fun and cringe, and the two are often impossible to seperate as a result.

The only majorly bad thing about this game is that textures in the game are missing because Valve wants you to pay money for CS: Source and the Half Life 2 titles. It's understandable as this game is literally a mod made from Source, but it's still somewhat of a cash-grab. Many servers use the needed textures, and not having them results in a checkerboard display of neon pink and black as well as large "error" signs for unrenderable objects. It destroys emersion and confuses new players.

The games required cost a total of about $40 without tax, and Gmod costs about $10. That's around $50 total. Given that most games today come out priced around $60, and still withhold about $100 worth of content to release as DLC, Gmod still offers a pretty great deal.

Gmod offers something for everyone, but its wise to wear some form of cringe-protection prior to logging on. Many fandoms dominate the RP community, and many are fairly toxic for anyone who doesn't devote their lives to a single medium of fiction. Server hosts range from petty to chill, with most being the former rather than the latter.

This is a game for timekilling. It has the potential for a lot of fun times, but requires a lot of learning on the part of the player. This game is not entirely user-friendly, and takes some getting used to. Finally, you have to talk to people. It's scary, but if you want to get involved, you have to communicate to some degree.

To summerize:
-This game can be fun, but isn't always fun.
-Bring some name-brand Fandom-block, as DarkRP will give you cancer without it.
-Don't talk about Garry's Mod in school, you nerd.
-If you have a high voice, unemployeed 30 year olds will make fun of you.
-Buy Half-life 2 (both episodes) and CS: Source
-No one in any role is ever qualified to hold that role, not even you.
-"Minge" is a subjective term that admins use to ban you after you win an argument that they start. It refers to the lack of willingness to remain in character during Roleplay, but is not often associated with its actual definition.
-Don't play GMod unless you have friends on it already. Play Europa Universalis instead, it will make you smarter.

This game is one of those rare gems you find in the modern sea of "meh" games. A true diamond in the rough, it starts with a simplistic appearance, but quickly pulls you in with surprisingly complex (but easy to learn) mechanics, a subtle but neat background lore, and a sense of real time effect. There are measurable relations between yourself and characters in the game.

The gameplay and fighting are fairly simple, but allow you to choose an approach to combat. Want to charge headlong into the enemy without a plan? Go ahead. Want to station archers atop a hill to rain death on those who dare to advance? Feel free. What to hold the enemy in place with Infantry and flank them with Cavalry? Do it. Each faction in the game plays differently due to having different focuses. The same strategy doesn't always work for every enemy.

Politics add a new layer of depth to this game. Most RPGs are open-world, but contain a linear story. For instance, you can complete quests in Skyrim and end up choosing one of maybe four endings, but you have no real impact past that. You can't truly take control of your own path, it's all pre-determined by a linear narrative. In Mount and Blade, you can do as you damn well please, instead of staying on rails the whole time. If you want to sieze a city and hold out against the inevitable counter-attack, you can. You establish relations with other characters through your actions. Each choice you make holds actual depth to it, and different lords have different responses based on personality. This system makes other games feel shallow. It's cute and all that you can execute this guy or that guy, but you'll never be able to conquer Tamriel, because that would hurt the narrative. For the record, I'm not trying to bash Skyrim, it's a good game, it's just a good example of a semi-linear game.

Choice is a big part of this game. You decide when you're ready to take an action, not the game. You can stay on the safe road, building up a fortune, renown, and a right to rule, or you can hire a small army, and begin a campaign of death and destruction across whatever lands you desire. Your playstyle is actually factored in, and every action elicits a reaction. This is not a casual game, this is a campaign where your end goal is set by you and you alone.

Mods make this game. The best overall are in the workshop. Due to this game being coded in C++, it's extremely mod friendly.

Calradia is a wonderplace, with a mix of jovial fun and dark undertones. Will you pledge service to a Monarch and aid their conquest, or will you decide to take Calradia for yourself? Do you wish to make it as a famous adventurer, or will you become the most infamous raider ever known? Will you act as a benevolent warrior, or a bloodlusting conquerer? Your experience is your choice, down to the last detail. Calradia will continue to change without your presence, as she waits for no one. Whether or not the reins of fate are pulled by your hands is determined by you.

I'm certain this game is fantastic, but unless you have a gaming pc (custom built or otherwise), the graphics load will likely be too much.
