One way to describe this game is "mindless fun", it's not trying to reinvent the wheel but it's still a fun time especially if you just want to smash some buttons.

Once again, Don't Nod knocks it out of the park when it comes to providing some of the best storytelling in gaming.

Pros
- Compelling Story (even the side stories from minor characters are really well written)
- Characters are nuanced allowing for the decision making part of this game really shine.
- Good graphics
- Beautiful Environments
- Not too long, not too short
- The atmosphere is also pretty relaxing

Cons
- Non-existent traversal especially with the map being pretty big
- Fast travel points are too far apart making it very frustrating to go to one place to another
- Combat is mediocre (an improvement from vampyr but it still has the problem of being repetitive and messy)
- Game performance struggles in some areas (stuttering, fps drops)

Despite some of these problems, I still very much enjoy the game for what it is. It's not a AAA game so I didn't come into the game expecting a masterpiece. Went into it with minimal expectations and it paid off.

played for 21 more hours and I just don't think this game is for me, it's an actual snoozefest to go through it

The devil in me is definitely a step up from all the other Dark Pictures game and it shows, they introduced fun new mechanics which are unfortunately underutilized and you can tell while playing it because you forget that there's even an inventory system halfway into the game. The story is your standard slasher flick, it's cliche and predictable but it's fun! I don't think the game needed to be complicated, it stayed true to what it promised. Characters are meh, I didn't really care for most of them since they're very one-dimensional and the character development is not even that deep. The standout for this game is definitely the environment and setting, it's ominous and claustrophobic which really makes for some great jumpscares.

Overall this is really good entry in the dark pictures anthology, it's the 2nd best right behind House of Ashes. I love that they went on a different direction and it for sure paid off.

This game is miles better than man of medan, the action, the atmosphere, and the story is really good. This game is only 5 hours but it didn't feel like it. I felt immersed by the storytelling and the character dynamic is one of the best from supermassive. The twist in the end is a mixed bag, I didn't mind it but it kinda makes the whole thing pointless. I rooted for these characters only for the game to slap me with that ending, but then again it did get a good reaction from me so it I guess it worked.

The game is pretty good, I had fun with it. It's your typical ubisoft formula but it did not bore me like most of the stuff they have released, I think most of the heavylifting is the exploration and just the variety of environments you are thrown into. Gameplay is fine but I wish there's more to the weapon than just plain old pew pew pew.

The biggest gripe I have about this game is just how predictable the story was, I literally rolled my eyes during the final hours of the game because the whole plot has been done so many times and I can tell the budget wasn't spent on making a good story which sucks because I did had a lot of fun with it. The characters are okay, I didn't really care for most of them except for ND-5 and Nix.

Overall, I had a good time with it. It's not a perfect game by any means but there is fun to be had here as long as you don't pay the asking price for it lol, buy it on sale and you'll have a blast.

The game is okay, It had a good premise but the overall execution fell a little short and there's not much that happens throughout the whole runtime of this game, it's just a bunch of jumpscares here and there (which gets old real fast). The game is beautiful like every supermassive games although the facial animations are definitely on the uncanny side but it didn't really bother me as the atmosphere really carried it. Also, the endings are very abrupt, I was left wondering if there's more but no, nothing happens.

Overall an okay start for the anthology, hopefully it gets better as I go through the other 3.
