This game, in it's current form, has some serious problems in terms of in-game economy, balancing, and grinding.

Balancing: While not too bad for players that fly allied planes (Britain, USA, Soviet Union), those flying in planes of the Luftwaffe or Imperial Navy/Airforce feel the pain. So much so that for the Luftwaffe and Japanese planes, late Tier 3, Tier 4, and Germany's Me-262, Ar-234, And He-162 jets are quite literally almost unplayable. In tier 4 for these nations, you will commonly see on the opposing team P-80s, F-80Cs, Meteors, Yak-15s, B-57s, IL-28s, and the like. All of these are jets planes from late 1944 to 1951 and onwards. All going against prop planes from 1943-1944 with guns that lack enough velocity or power to even stay on target when attempting to engage these planes, and it's not like they can catch them. These planes cruise at about 750-900Km/ph. Now you may think, "but the axis jets get the same treatment, right?". No, they don't. Me-262s go up against F-86s, jets which were intodruced in around 1953, a full 9 years ahead of the rudimentary and clunky jets technolgy present in the 262, which has difficulty even getting up to 700km/ph in level flight. The He-162 has the same balancing problem, only it has only 2 low velocity MG151/20 20mm cannons, instead of the 262s 4 30mm guns. The Ar-234 is a jet bomber with no guns, and low speed (topping out at about 760ish Km/ph), and yet it is matched up with Meteors, F-80Cs, and IL-28s. Planes that are not only significantly faster, but also have several rather large and powerful guns. This renders all of these planes, the 262, 162, and 234, not only torterous to play, but also virtually useless, despite their historical significance. As for the Japanese planes, they have the same problems at teir 4 as the germans do, only worse due to the low armor present on most of the planes, along with low speed, making most teir 4 matches in a Japanese plane 7-10 minutes of pure seal club favoring the other team. The only saving grace for the balance system for axis players is the Japanese R2Y2 jet bomber. A manuverable hugh-speed jet bomber with 4 30mm high velocity Type-5 cannons. Other than that, most of the other late game axis planes are bunk do to quite possibly some of the worst balancing I've seen since the ACR 6.8 in MW3.

Enconomy: Early on, things arent too bad, but after late tier 2, it becomes that if you get shot down before a match has ended, you end up losing money very quickly, to the point were after a few bad matches, your once baby smooth cool Million has been reduced to a pitiful 300k, hardly enough to afford or train crew for your next plane. To make matters worse, unless in an event, the most one could make during a game on average is usually only 15-30k(ish), making it take literal ages to save or pay for anything in game.

Grinding: Similar to Enconomy, in the early game, researching is pretty quick, and relatively satisfying. You get to squee over getting your shiny new P-40 in only a few short matches, but later on, it begins to take days, weeks, and in the case of tier 5, possible months to unlock the new plane, and thats just to unlock it for purchase. If you don't have enough money, than feel free to cry yourself to sleep while you continue the grind so you can pay for the plane, only to have it immediately knocked out from stock-syndrome.

All in all, the game has the potential to be something beautiful, but do to the almost blatant refusake to fix some problems shown by the devs, it remains in a rather unbalanced, and in some ways, painful, state.

However, Ground forces is pretty great except for the high cost of tanks.
