This is one of my most anticipated games ever but I was very disappointed. The gameplay is more similar to Tropico or Anno 1800 than the predecessor Victoria II. There is a severe lack of any kind of immersive or flavour content. Every nation plays effectively the same and there is very little in the game to do other than build buildings to meet resource deficits which causes new deficits because the new buildings require more of a certain good, rinse and repeat.

It breaks my heart to leave a negative review. The best thing I can say about this game is that it makes me appreciate Victoria II even more and want me to play it again.

For whatever reason you cannot play Napoleon: Total War with a 12th gen Intel CPU. This is one of my favourite games of all time and I have hundreds of hours but I want to warn other people about this known issue. Just to reiterate: if you have a new Intel CPU you cannot play Napoleon. Empire works fine, Rome II works fine, etc. but Napoleon is incompatible with the new CPU and its unclear if there is any fix planned.
