So it did not live up to the hype.

I had a lot of fun playing and finishing the campaign but this game is not all that I expected it to be. The shooting mechanics are stiff, the ai is stingy and slow and the game loses all immersion when you're driving. There's so much more in the game that I felt like could be added and just wasn't, such as further custimization to your hair and tattoos that could be added in shops in the map.

To begin, the AI was slow and felt like it didn't even exist. You can run away from the cops by just driving in a straight line or by starting a new mission while still being apprehended. The citizens in Night City were lifeless. And enemies were ridiculously stupid. I could be right in front of someone and they wouldn't notice me (while sneaking), or I could be 15 feet from someone behind a wall, and they still manage to see me.

For how much the game aspired to become, the side missions and story isn't diverse as I expected it to be. It was quite literally point and shoot and there isn't any much depth further than that. The game becomes less of a RPG and more of an FPS game. There isn't any substantial upgrades that I felt hindered me from completing the campaign. Honestly I just flowed through it without putting much thought to my character or weapons. At some points this became almost boring.

Although I am writing this review within the first week of release, I have to let you know that the bugs exist. I'm sure you've heard of them and don't expect to get lucky. 9/10 of the bugs I experienced were not game breaking, but kind of ruined the game for me often times confusing me and leaving me to restart or not continue that specific mission.


And now for the good things. I enjoyed the plots and the storyline that was written. I though Keanu Reeve's acting was amazing and he honestly made the game for me. Some people didn't care much for the characters but I thought they had well written personalities that made the game more enjoyable.

I play on Geforce Now because my house burned, i do not currently have a pc. With all the bugs involved, I still think Night City is absolutely beautiful. The textures are intricate, the colors are vibrant and overall exceeded my expectations. I do believe that with the next few bug fixes and optimizations people will be able to push their systems a lot more in order to appreciate this.


As much as I loved the game and would recommend buying it, take this information with a grain of salt. It's obvious it isn't finished, you will experience many bugs, and it isn't this perfect utopia that we expected it to be.

Team Fortress 2 is a great free first person shooter that I would definently recommend to anyone with steam. The various classes makes the game fun and enjoiyable to play by yourself or online with your friends. 10/10.
