Massive explosions, over whelming forces, impossible odds and occasional hugs.

Ambitious and entertaining as it is; the Devs basically allow [non regional players] aim bots to run rampant in Official pvp. Imagine hosting your own server and not moderating it. It has plenty of bugs, constantly crashes and unfortunately while sailing; the server doesn't recognize a client crash for far too long in most cases. Inevitably connection times out on reconnect (Same for initial log in). Not the best single player by design, multiplayer lacks stability to be good. Load spikes, render, menu delays, position reporting are a few examples of problem areas. Too much disparity between levels (character and item) to create fast, fun pvp, rather ATLAS requires many different grinds to become competitive. 10/10
New Map, same problems.

It makes Minecraft look like Dig Dug.

Great medieval castle building game, fully destructible with soft physics and immersive enviroment.
Would recommmend to anyone wanting to be creative, or even destructive because you can also build working catapults and trebuches...

Long time player of the Total War series, Rome II is one my top three favorites in the franchise along with original Shogun and Medieval II.

Picked it up soon after launch, IMHO the game has improved in performance and bug fixing, sure, there are occasional issues, but the game overall runs well.
I have been happy to recieve additional content in the form of campaign modes, playable factions and upgrades/patches as well as a good selection of opt in DLC.
The Workshop support is great. Access to community created content helps with replayability and if I want a more 'custom' campaign this is where I go.
For fans of strategy games or the Total War series this is worth having.

Player since Beta/Gamma. Completely underwhelming beyond orientation. High tolerance for tedium required for enjoyment, I found it a bore.
Wings patch broken - a multiplayer game where you cant see the other players in your own instance is garbage.
Power Play - not enticing; a Poster and a Risk board game with the same 'blaze your own grind' play that is the base game. Plus it has De-merits, so its worse than Dailies in a way.
Aside from graphics and sound this game reeks of Early Access, except is massively overpriced.
Boring.
(To wit; Official Forum has a Megathread; Elite Boring.

Over the last year this is what I have seen, as stated by another player:
- game full of bugs that have not been fixed for months (RES, Background Sim, Wings ?)
- shallow gameplay where if you dig deep enough you will find.... Ha yes I forgot you can't dig; too shallow; make the entire story in your head and PLEASE write some lore/stories on the side for us.
- Wings bringing nothing because there is nothing to do in the game apart from basic fighting, basic trucking or exploration.
- Disparity between platforms when it was ok to wait more for the first mac version but another big blow like that with horizon is outrageous. The shader compute excuse is either unprofessional because they should have known better from the beginning or a pure lie for whatever reason.
- Not fixing the core game but focussing on releasing expansions that don't add much instead. I mean we now we will be able to land on some planets but that's it. This is not going to enrich the game by itself and this is not even a world's first. Nothing groundbreaking there.
- CQC is just another game mode as far as I understand it; not bringing any depth to the game; we will be able to fight each other console style and forget momentarily about the emptiness of the real game (please correct me on CQC if Im wrong)
- lack of basic tools like navigation bookmarks; trading and social tools
- power play broken to bits
- lack of customisation
- few ships
- all stations look the same.
- Lack of general content. Empty space, empty space and more empty space. Ha yes there is an asteroid belt there, let's go and pretend it is awesome ! Ha no I forgot there is nothing to do there... res is broken and mining is fun for 5mn
- Lack of REAL communication from FD, they just do what they want
- BASIC grinding mechanics throughout
- mission system BASIC to say the least
- reputation system shady as hell, no idea what is going on; I can take missions for one faction and still see my rep decrease with that faction... Been doing about 20 missions so far for the empire; don't even have my first rank. great
.
Shift back to present day, here we are and there is still bad basic multiplayer to the point of ruining games with friends. Way to be FD, way to be.

Keen's Early Access development process; integrating community suggestions and meeting weekly deadlines, is resulting in one of the greatest Space Sandbox games of all time.
