Mafia 1 really lacks from not having an open world, some games thrive under a linear story and world but Mafia 1 is hindered by it, leaving you asking what are you doing it all for if you can't actually experience the success of the character. That along with lacklustre missions and a rushed ending makes it glaringly obvious that despite a remaster the game doesn't age well compared to modern games.

Quick match making, ability to restart a new game instantly when you die, and the ability to switch from survivor to killer keeps things fast and fresh. An addicts worse nightmare, you'll blink and the last two weeks of your life will be lost to the entity.
