i'd say the golden age was right around when custom ammo first dropped, gameplay was well varied, heavy and trudging combat, it just felt good, but now non-stop events and cosmetics, as well as a really overly bloated weapon selection have killed my baby
crytek has also laid off staff despite the constant cosmetic bloat
i'll miss it a lot
