*Note I have done every single side quest/ main quest in the game, these are my thoughts after its all said and done

Final verdict; The game has fantastic storytelling, good combat mechanics, huge world and great worldbuilding, however there are a Short ton of bugs and some aspects of the game are unpolished. If you don't mind the bugs buy it now, but if you care you should wait a couple months so when the game is complete, and they add in some more polish. If you want to read in-detail breakdown look below (there is not enough space for the full review)

The Good

one of the best storytelling experiences I've ever played in a video game. It is hard for a video game to make you feel empathetic for characters let alone minor side characters, but this game does it well. During the Pan Am storyline my heart was wrenching when V was trying to tell her that he only had a couple weeks to live. Another time was a short side job where you raid a small dad and son business that’s selling bootleg braindances(sort of a VR experience) and you have the choice of sparing them for money, telling them to close down the shop, or kill them, and when you kill the father, the boy runs to his corpse and cries. I genuinely felt bad for killing the father, and I genuinely felt V having a hard time telling his love interest that he was dying. This kind of story telling and immersion with random side characters Is something you rarely see in video games now, so this is appreciated. I could name countless of different escapades in this game where it makes you feel a type of way about a character or event. There is a plethora of different characters to meet and interact with and each one effects the story in some way. Add in the other main character Johnny, and you’re in for a good story.

I don’t see video game characters as real people and real things, but I get so immersed during the short cut scenes and when you must choose dialogue options. That brings another fantastic element about cyberpunk 2077 user choice. You cannot get certain items in the game or have certain cutscenes if you choose certain things during even side stories which is incredible. It has great RPG elements not on the level of say fallout new Vegas or Skyrim, but there is a **** ton of stuff to watch and read in the game. Some people might not enjoy that, but idk why you’re playing an RPG for non-story elements.

The world is huge and almost everything is interactable, most buildings you can go into, once you progress your character to certain point, you can get to hard to reach places. To tie in with the choice’s element, your choices affect the world around you. You will hear it on the radio even characters will act differently to you based on elements you chose even hours prior. I'm not going to act like any of this is revolutionary this has been in RPG games forever, but it is a good element to have, nonetheless. There is a huge and deep lore you can access by finding data shards around various locations in the map also you learn stuff from conversations you have with NPC's . data shards are the best way to learn information, however gameplay wise most people I think would agree it be better if it was told to you directly rather than you having to go out of your way in fighting those specific notes. Has a good blend of both but the best worldbuilding comes from your interaction with other characters. There is an insane amount of missions and quests to do in the game and a good majority of them are unique with their own characters and small story arc.

When I first started playing the game I thought the combat was quite clunky, but I realized it was just bad AI, which I will get into in the next segment. the combat is not clunky, it is very fluid especially when you pair it up with certain character progression traits and something called cyberware mods which are implants that make your character better in some sort of statistic. there are some cool combos you could do with them, so every engagement is unique in how you deal with the enemies. There are a million different ways to beat a mission which is something very good I don't have to go into every mention running and gunning I don't have to stealth through every mission I don't have to talk through every mission there's something for everyone in the combat and mission mechanics.

The Bad

The bugs in this game are incessant and every single day I've been playing this I've encountered new bugs every single time Playing. Personally they don't affect me that much I actually laugh at them, only one of them actually genuinely affected my gameplay, which was it wouldn’t let me park a car in a garage, It thought it was a wall, but I'm a masochist so I kept trying for 40 minutes. I could go about every single bug I've encountered in the game but there is too many to count. Hello casual players and most people really don't enjoy that **** so it is definitely a bad aspect of the game that CD projekt red thankfully said they will Patch it out and they have patched some of them out already but it just seems unpolished overall. For game that has been working on for eight years plus it is shameful the amount of bugs and glitches they have.

Optimization; I don't have the best equipment, but two years ago my PC was considered top of the line it couldn't get better than it is. I run most games 144 frames 1080P no problem but there's just so much **** going on in this city that it kills frame rate. I thought it was my GPU’s in the 1st place I have two 1080 tis running sli format, so I made sure that only one of them was running and I was still would not get above 50 frames on medium to high settings which is rather disappointing for such a beautiful game. Developers I can tell put a lot of detail on every little piece of the city, but it is just so poorly optimized and I don't even want to talk about the last Gen port of cyberpunk 2077. another problem which I found really annoying, was the LOD distance, cars will disappear right in front of you if you are going too fast, during races if you are beating your opponent so bad they will spawn behind you continually or in some cases even spawn in front of you which is so stupid. GTA 5 on the Xbox 360 in 2013 was better than this ****.

The AI in this game is downright awful in every single aspect, your friendly AI's don't do damage to anybody even if you sit there in a room for 10 minutes just letting them go at it. the driving AI's they won't go around anything if something is parked in front of it there will literally be a backlog of 30 cars if something is blocking the first car no NPC in Night City has the revolutionary idea of going around it. in combat AI is downright laughable. I didn't spec my character into stealth whatsoever, but I could run over a policeman right in front of another policeman less than a meter away and he won't do nothing he didn't even see it. The pathing of the AI's is downright awful I remember my first ever fight in the game I was shooting at somebody and he was running into a door and not opening the door, not hiding behind cover while getting shot at, just running into a door like a ******* bozo. All the AI acts and very predictable manners each AI that has cyberware mods will fight the same exact way, so after a while it's way too easy to counter them.
