This is literally like working in a real restaurant: get yelled at by customers and your chef because you forgot to ring up a dish, get your power room blocked off by a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ice wall because an Ice Witch is pissed at you,... truly great. I do wish there were some more upgrades for quality of life such as numbered tables and showing the table's number on the order or something like that, because keeping up with clients gets extremely hectic after a while.

Payday 3, a game that has been in development for so long and yet had one of the worst launches in recent history with an overconfident company whose actions and choices lead to a complete ♥♥♥♥ up that lasted DAYS. Do I recommend the game? The short answer is no.
There are too many negatives (which I'll get into in a bit) that completely outweigh the positives.

-So, let's start with the positives: the core gameplay is overall an upgrade from what we had in PD2, stealth is more fun and interactive, guns look and sound great, the shooting is also incredibly better; however this is where my praise for this game will end, everything and I mean EVERYTHING else is a straight downgrade.
-Let's get into the negatives then: Progression, EXP is no longer tied to money stolen during a heist, instead it's tied to challenges that you have to complete to earn EXP, you can literally spend 50 minutes in a heist on max difficulty to loot everything only to get rewarded with a middle finger because you didn't complete any challenges;
Weapon customisation, while it is true that the weapons generally feel and look better the way you can customise them is just not good, in order to unlock most (if not all) customisation options you need to level the weapons up (singularly, you have to level all of them up one at a time) which means... you guessed it! more challenges;
Builds and perks, do you remember PD2's build system? The amount of variety and fun you could have? Throw all of that out of the window straight into the trashcan, because now all you can do is allocate 21 points (at level 100, you SLOWLY AND PAINFULLY unlock them by levelling up) into skills, with less available skills you'd expect them to have some crazy effects, but no, all they do is either give you 10% bonus damage, 10% bonus movement speed or 10% reduced damage taken, that is all they do all the other effects are honestly so minor that you can ignore them except for a select few that offer some nice quality of life;
Removal of an effective melee system, your melee attack no longer deal any damage, now I know that this won't matter to everyone, but this is why I personally and I'm guessing many others loved PD2: the build variety, if you wanted to go melee you could, was it top tier meta? No, but it was an option, well not anymore I guess;
Removal of solo play, I think we all know why this was such a bad idea, we all know what happened when the game launched, what is worse however is that everyone in the community saw this coming, people tried to tell them that having an online only game was not a good idea, but nope "the servers will never go offline" they said and yet it happened FOR SEVERAL DAYS on release, but let's not dwell in the past, servers are mostly fine now, but the possibility of playing the game offline by yourself is gone forever;
Removal of Crime.net, do you remember when you could CHOOSE which lobby you wanted to join in PD2 based on what you wanted to do? Well, that's gone you will be put into a random lobby with random people (if there ever are enough people still online in this forgotten game) that might all have different ideas to approach the heist, good luck trying to stealth while your team goes loud, Have fun!

So is this game bad? Yes. However is it salvageable ? Of course it is, it would need a complete overhaul of the build system, the progression system, the matchmaking, adding a solo offline mode and maybe even changing the hideous menus that we have right now, but it's doable, will Starbreeze manage to do it? The way the patches are being delayed probably not.

there's 2 reasons as to why you're here: someone has annoyed you enough with this game and you finally gave in, or you've seen Max0r's videos on it and want to experience it yourself. Either way buy it and experience it. It's a masterpiece, now is it the best action game I've ever played? No it has flaws of course and the lack of main weapons makes the combat less varied, but the characters, the dialogue, the jokes and the adrenaline you get as you cut a boss in thousands of small parts as your PC dies just make this game unforgettable. Buy it and play it if you're looking for a game that can rival cocaine (also I recommend playing with a controller, it's playable with Mouse and Keyboard, but I wouldn't suggest it)

just yes. this game is great both as an introduction to the yakuza series and as a stand-alone game (it also goes on sale for like 5€ every time there's a steam sale going on)

I've played around 200 hours of this game , i am by no means a good player in fact i'm pretty bad , however i feel like over 200 hours of playtime are enough to give a proper review.
This game is an unpolished hidden gem , the combat system is truly unique and takes time to master , this is why you will absolutely hate you first experience. You will die a lot and you will complain about other characters just because they beat you , however this game is incredibly addicting and you will keep coming back to it.
But why am i calling it unpolished then ? To put it simply : it's too unbalanced , you will notice it yourself after a few hours of playtime ; Some characters are straight up not viable while some others are incredibly good , this will slowly turn playing this game form a pleasant experience into an unpleasant one.

So , would i recommend the game ? Yes i would , this game is unique and deserves to be tried if you like fighting games but don't expect to play a perfect game.

this game still has a lot of problems and bugs , like the lack of a tutorial , or the fact that sometimes you cannot build anymore and therefore you are probably going to lose , the game is however pretty fun and the fact that it was developped by just one guy is great , i really hope the programmer's not going to abandon it.

p.s. : catapults are so broken like you can bully everyone from your spawn and they are machineguns
