Once upon a time lived a famed painter,
adored by all for his creations.
Though one painting stood above the rest:
an ever-changing epic on the nature of Mann.

After nine years in development,
It was praised and sung to high heavens;
plain and simple at first,
though celebrated nonetheless.

But something peculiar happened:
fans created their own paintings in vain of the first,
not to plagiarize but pay tribute,
sillier, cruder, vulgar.

Tho this did not upset the painter,
Rather he welcomed it with open arms.
He came back to his creation, from time to time,
adding to it with newfound inspiration.

This small and quaint painting,
evolved to an expansive mural,
filled with the most peculiar things:
fanciful hats, unusual sights, and joyful dancing.

All added to its majesty, adoration grew,
But the painter grew tired.
Proud of what was made, but burnt out.
So he left it for all to admire, and moved on.

He was sure to return, yet for now,
There was plenty to interpret.
Fans did not take his departure lightly.
His lack of communication fueled uncertainty-

"Are we abandoned? Is this it?"
Enthusiasts became Cynics,
discussions turned to arguments,
What was loved was now picked apart for flaws.

Abound all the chaos,
All simply awaited the day,
that creator would revisit creation-
ready to create once more.
