I really wanted to love this game but it's just a slog and isn't an improvement on any of the prior Gal Civ iterations or on the 4X genre generally at all. Even the graphics are lackluster. Not worth the hype at all in a gaming era where other genres are innovating successfully.

This is one of those rare amazing ~40 hour, independent RPGs that combines tactical combat with a fresh take on all the usual classes that are familiar with adventuring parties. The characters are funny, the voice-overs are done very well, and the game is very high quality. It was a joy to play with virtually no frustration, which is rare for RPGs. Highly recommend.

This is a really great game that's rich without being needlessly complicated that can happily occupy you for hours. Great characters, mechanics, and a tactical turn-based combat system reminiscent of XCOM and Divinity. Also some inventive concepts with magic users. There is also a heavy story element to the game with cut-scene comic panels that look like they're the product of a lot of effort and creativity. I'd suggest a shorter series of comic panels so as not to interrupt the action for as long, but some players will undoubtedly really like these.

The 3 Room games are so well done and beautiful that I'd recommend them to any type of gamer. These aren't the type of puzzle games that will send you to google ripping your hair out because you're stuck, but are just challenging enough to remain fun and engaging. The graphics are gorgeous and the story line is compelling. Each game can be completed probably in the 5-7 hour range, so they are certainly worth the full price.

Civ VI isn't nearly as good as Civ V. I've put 26 hours in so far and haven't really been wowed in the way I was with many other installments of this series. Some of the mechanics have changed in this game, but not necessarily for the better. It feels like a minimal amount was changed to justify putting out another full game.
